I'm not a Shoei guy but I've owned a couple and found them to be good quality. Whay are you using it for?

By the way... how about a Shark RSI.... $150.

There's a ton of $300-400 lids on sale for about $150 right now. If it's a bitch lid you need, I have a Scorpion EXO-400 I'd sell for $50 plus ship. I think she wore it 5 times max.

just a comfortable helmet that im not afraid to leave attached to the bike and looks decent. I have a beater but it is uncomfortable as hell and im sick of it.

Ill go try on a shark in the few days

Send pics the worst i could do is buy it. No hurry.
I forgot you have your own gear warehouse, with its own closeout deals :)

The RF1000 has a non-detachable liner so when it's time to clean, you gotta wash the whole helmet and let it dry, but otherwise it's a high quality helmet as typica of Shoei products.

I have a shark RSI. Great helmet. Very comfortable. Extremely light. But, its loud and I have no visor lock. When I'm going fast and do a shoulder check, the visor sometimes opens.

True.

Besides the liner issue it is a quality lid.

I've had three and wouldn't hesitate to buy another if I needed a new lid.

Don't know about you guys, but I've never needed to wash the inside of my helmet. The outside is a different story  I love my RF-1000. It may not cost $700, but it's a great helmet.

Anymore, I think I prefer a non-removable liner. one less thing to get messed up up if the velcro on my gloves stick!

Guess you guys like skanky liners. Washing it ain't that difficult.

THIS! I washed my liner once at the end of last season. Nothing changed. And it definitely doesn't stink.

Throw a bounce sheet in it during off season and all is good

I just leave it out with air circulating. Never store anything -gloves! or dew rags/bandannas- in it. I usually don't even put it in the Shoei bag it came in.

Anyone else HATE new helmet smell? It's like new car smell 1/4" from your face. :td:
