Got the call this evening that my grandmother (Dolly) passed this evening. :(

I had sat with her for about an hour after work tonight. She was a shadow of who she was and it's a blessing.

I've never had to deal with this and I'm not doing the best. Logically I know it was time and it was a blessing. But emotionally I just want Dolly back.

I've also been asked to say the eulogy. NO idea where to start with this one. :(

I have had to do this with a grandmother that was grand and tought me many things. I remember I held myself together right till the end... then I freakin lost it. And I wont even start with the loss of my dad.

Sorry for your loss.

Sorry to hear, Kell. RIP Dolly

Just speak from the heart for the Eulogy. Write down a few stories that you have from growing up that really just shows her how you remember her and the life she had.

Im sorry Kell. The best way I dealt with my Grandfathers passing was to celebrate the life He led and the people he touched. Try that with your Grams, remember the good times and share what made you happy with her, learning to cook or sew or vacations or how she helped you read or the days on the farm or whatever you had with her. Have other people share the good experiences and put that in the eulogy. You and your family are in our thoughts.

I'm sorry for your loss. :/ I know it's tough getting over something like this.. just take it one step at a time is the best I can say.

Sorry to hear about your loss, Kelly.

For her Eulogy, just try speaking from your heart as mentioned above. When you think about Dolly, what are the first 3 things that come to mind? What are a couple things she taught you along the way? With just those few catalysts and your (grammatically correct ;)) writing skills, I'm sure you'll write something very moving.

Sorry to hear. You will think of plenty of things to say at the eulogy. Just take a minute and reflect on all the reasons that you will miss her, and why you cared so much her to begin with. All of these things will be great to share with the folks who attend her service and sharing will make you feel a bit better too.

Thanks everyone.

When I sat with her last night I told her that she could go now. That we were all ready and we had all made our peace with it. And I told her that she needed to go on to live the life she wanted, and that wasn't with us anymore.

I mean, you don't know if they can hear you or not but....kind of strange that she then passed that night. :(

Sorry for your loss. Even when you think or know it's time and for the better...it still can be hard to accept. Good luck with the eulogy...that has to be tough.

Kelly, so sorry for your loss. Like you said, you never know whether they can hear you, but maybe she was waiting for you to let her know that it was ok to go.

Remember the good times, share some of your special memories, and use the lessons she taught you to be the best person you can be. She'll never leave you.

RIP Dolly.
