Does anyone have a good resume template for OpenOffice?

I don't know what Open Office is.

Its a Word time program but it is free.

http://www.openoffice.org/

"OpenOffice.org 3 is the leading open-source office software suite for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, databases and more. It is available in many languages and works on all common computers. It stores all your data in an international open standard format and can also read and write files from other common office software packages. It can be downloaded and used completely free of charge for any purpose."

Not to jack, but how well is openoffice working for you?
I've heard of it, but never used it myself.

As for templates, just google it and see what comes up. I usually just make something up on my own.

I can change one from my wife with bs info for a template. it would be a word doc. She does a good job at them and knows what is old school and what is now. Bieng she hires people herself.

I like it. I had Microsoft office as a trial on both computers but didn't have the money or that much of a need to pay for it. Someone told me about Openoffice and I have been using it ever since.

One thing I like about it is that you can save files in the Word format for people that use it. Thats what I do when I send files to my brother.

I have had files sent to me in Word that I couldn't edit because the trial ended. It was a pain in the ass. But with OpenOffice they can be opened and used.

That would be great. I think it has been about 12-14 years since I have last made a resume.

FWIW if you go to the OO template screen, it has an option to download templates online, click it and find what you want. I just use a normal plain template with a blue border.:idk:

Resumes made with templates can be spotted a mile away and scream "I'm not creative and I'm pretty lazy". Just my experience.

There are only so many things you can do with a resume. I think it would be pretty hard to make a resume now and not have someone find a template that looks just like it or very close.

Yea screw it! Worst of all, I spent a ton of time making my last resume and all the cute little details don't even tranfer when I apply online. I'm sure it's a formatting problem on my end, but it still sucks! I don't do any hiring anymore but when I did, I sure didn't give a fuck about curly Qs and borders or whatever... are you fucking qualified or not?!?

Creativity is warranted in some jobs...but I think you're right...most HR peeps just want to know if you're a qualified individual.

I have heard of someone putting their resume on an old shoe. Wrote that shit right on the leather. Can't remember what the job was.

Thanks for the help. I put out two Resumes. One for a seasonal sales job at an electronics store which I received a job yesterday. And one to the Firefighters school. That one I'm still waiting on.

I worked with a few templates and my brother kinda came up with a hybrid.
