Yea I thought that Ben played it very smart!!! The stupid announcers kept saying that he had a problem... Plus they TOTALLY fucked up the math! Nori had to win and Ben had to finish 7th for Haga to win the championship. If Haga had won and Spies finished 6th, the points would have been tied and Spies would have won the championship on wins. Once Haga crashed it was basically over.:rockwoot:

Good for Ben. It was a great season for Yamaha all over the globe. Crutchlow in WSBK SS, Spies in WSBK, Rossi in MotoGP. Even Hayes in AMA SBK had a very good season and the Yamaha guys in AMA DSB were nipping at the heals of a competitively advantaged Buell.
did you guys watching on speed hear the part about how rea isint running any anti wheelie control? Dudes riding the rear brake up every hill. Unreal

I haven't watched the races from yesterday yet or the MotoGP race but have all 3 of them DVR'd but couldn't resist this thread regardless. :lol
Congrats to Ben and Yamaha !! :rockout:

I wonder why Spies decide to go to MotoGP next year instead of doing more WSBK? I figured he would try to get some more international wins under his belt, get some more experience and then go play with the really, really big boys. But we shall see.
Too bad Max Biaggi finished fourth, but ain't bad for an old fart on a brand new bike.
BMW suck ass!!! Haha.

you could really see his age peeking through at times but then again hes not taking so many crazy chances. It'll be real interesting to see how he finishes next year with the bike and team sorted.
i still cant believe bmw re upped xaus! Switch for shakey at least guys damn

Well from what I can gather, WSBK is for those who retired from GP... Since Ben seems to be on the up n up, why not compete at the highest level? LOL

hehe they were calling toselands move a "lateral transfer" during the race
GP can make or break him. Sadly, I often feel it's more the bike and team in GP, where in all the other race orgs the rider is the larger factor. We'll see next year though. I expect nothing of him in Valencia. He's shown the world that he's "the man" already though! CONGRATS BEN!!!!

they used to say that about a certain Honda rider, who promplty jumped ship to an uncompetitive Yamaha and won the championship his first year on it.:rockwoot:

I watched the races last night. It had to kill Haga being beaten by a Yamaha since he switched camps. It also had to be tough racing while fighting the flu...he finished strong though.
Karl...we're talking about a demi god there. :p Rossi also has the ability to develop a motorized bar stool, let alone the Yamaha. That bike is the bike it is because of him. No doubt Spies has some skill too after watching him in the AMA and WSBK. However, only the rarest few will rise to the front in GP. Getting in front of Rossi, Jorge, Stoner, or Pedrobot will be an undertaking like no other! The cards are stacked strongly against him. If any American can do it though, it's Spies! :)
