I'm looking for a reasonably priced pair of gloves. I paid $76 for the last pair I bought, and I don't want to spend over $100 for another pair. Should be suitable for street and track use. MUST have wrist and gauntlet closures.
Two I've found are the Cortech Scarab RR and Adrenaline. I liked my RRs, and I like the Winters, but the RRs are toast for reasons I won't elaborate on.

I tried on the A* Octane S-Moto short gloves and liked them, but not what I want. Also tried on a Yamaha branded pair that seemed decent, but they were white, and didn't feel right, and were $100.
So what are you track people wearing? No I won't be buying $160 A* GP Plus or $200 Dainese.

If you shop around you may be able to find something like the A* SP1 for about 100. They retail at 120 brand new most places so Im sure you can get em new on ebay or an ebay store for 100 or less.
If JoJo and Ebbs aren't going to buy my GP Plus gloves for $80, I got a pair of large GP Plus gloves for sale. You need to ask JoJo and Ebbs first.

I use elk skin gloves, which are second best against abrasion after kangaroo skin. Great for street riding where you have to really feel the levers, but they don't have gauntlets so I don't know how they would work on the track.
These here are $110, but they are very, very good:http://www.leeparksdesign.com/eshopprod_cat_530-3637_product_33201.DeerSports_Black_.htm

Wouldn't fit.

I've found that A* gloves fit a size or two small. Watching the STG reviews, they say the same thing. Normally I wear a 10 or 11, which is a large or XL in most leather gloves. A* gloves, I need at least an XL if not a XXL. Their pants and jackets are dead on for me though.

Ive actually heard that too. Id love to buy em but Im already stuck tryin to resell a jacket that is a size too small and I dont want to have a pair of gloves to resell right now too.

I like the ICON Merc gauntlets. They are comfortable and have protected me through two crashes.

You know something...I have those as well. They appear to be very very protective. I had my doubts that they would hold up after a crash....but as you say....maybe they do.
I paid $60 on closeouts for mine.

I don't care for the styling on those, or the way the gauntlet gets short on on side.
Some of the Teknics look ok, but all they have are Small and XXXL... unless I wanted lime green or neon yellow :barf:

Dye then black. Cheap gloves that offer as much protection do not exist.

I'm shopping around. When this shitty weather blows over again, I'll head to some shops that have a better selection. Which means a nice 60 mile ride each way that could turn into 200 miles if I hit several places, and I plan to be creative with the route. Somerset to Morgantown to Uniontown...

Well, I ordered my gloves this morning. Got the Cortech Adrenaline from motorcycle-superstore. Paid less than $100 for the gloves plus a K&N filter for my next oil change.
Tried to order my jacket from STG, but I don't think it worked. Have to call them after work. Also have to check around for somewhere to put the 360 zip in.

Stingray skin is the best for abrasion resistance.... I've got that in several spots on my Held Phantoms.

I so want a pair of Held Phantoms. I have been wanting a pair forever. I love those gloves :rockout:
However for the best leather gauntlet under $100. The Teknic Chicane's are awseome. I'm on my 2nd pair. My first pair lasted over two years. I bought them on closeout for about $25. I would still be wearing them, but when I won a newer pair, I went ahead and retired these.
My 2nd pair I won for free at a bikenight raffle. Retail price on them is under $75 though. They are comfortable, well made, and seem to be pretty good quality.

They're worth the cash. Amazing gloves. I use them every day now.
I got what I would consider a pretty good deal on them from sportbiketrackgear just by haggling a bit. Nice guys there.
Worst case, pick up a used pair to save money. They hold up amazingly well in crashes and lots of racers use them. You could probably pick up a pair from the wera boards for fairly cheap.
