so i just saw something awesome, driving for my work up lombard and theres a guy in front of me on an ultra with mild pipes and blaring stereo. Anyway he makes a left at my turn and this reasonably cute blonde starts across the street behind him and as im checking her out i watch her look down the street to see what all the noise was about see the harley and roll her eyes big as shit. First it should be said... my harley is not loud. I have 50 state street legal screamin eagle pipes on it. It just has a nice mild note to it. Didn't want anything else for a few reason. Don't care about the added attention. Don't want to listen to them for 10+ hrs on the highway during trips.

Its not a tough guy HD image thing. I did a whole lot more hell raising when on a sportbike. I was riding with my sportbike RC and almost pulled a guy out of his truck. Probably would have but his doors were locked and the window didnt budge after punching it several times. It wasnt a name callin incident the guy thought it was funny to swerve at us passing his truck. The few that got by saw what happened and the crew stopped at the next intersection. He was promply greeted.

Just the other week when riding with a buddy of mine. A guy tapped his brake a bit when we followed closely to him thru a yellow light. He got caught at the next light and saw us telling each other WTF is up with this mofo. Well the guy started to throw his hands up... my bud already had his kick stand down but light turned green and we were turning anyway.

My point. Its not a HD thing. Perhaps a Detroit thing. I saw similar behavior from a set of NY guys just outside a diner. I thought Tommy's bud Chris was going to get postal on a guy at an intersection. I almost did too, but refrained cause there was a kid in the back seat.

So there is no way they would, even if it was funny, would call anybody a fag in this context. Those that would are probably punk kids and therefore would likely get their ass beat. I repeat.. I don't have loud pipes. I think Marko's drummer was every bit as loud as mine was. Derfs brother had the loud pipe.

I've sat and talked with a few hells affiliates, they talk to me because I ride an American bike. The funniest time some guys had made a club. They had patches and vests. And they pulled into the parking lot. The minute the two HA guys saw them, they dropped their gear to show their colors.

I thought it was odd that they weren't showing them all the time, so I asked what was up about that. They told me that the HA was run out of hfx, and they had to start an affiliate gang.
Pretty cool guys, they just gave off a bad vibe.

Last time I heard of a 1%er giving a damn about this sort of thing was maybe 10 years ago, at the Toronto International Motorcycle Show. Some white patch got pissy about someone in line not giving him 'respect' so he started a fight and got his ass kicked, while his full patch 'brothers' watched. His 'brothers' said something about respect having to be earned.

Don't know if the same would have happened if it had been a full patch who picked that fight, but I strongly suspect that one wouldn't have.

Followed a guy on a HD up Yonge Street (the main north-south drag through downtown Toronto) a couple of days ago at 6:00am, on the way to work. At every light he would take off and hammer the gas, making his open-piped blat bounce off the tower walls. I'm sure that the folks in the expensive hotels and condos were impressed.

The truly sad part was that my weak little Mazda 5 didn't really have any trouble keeping up with him :lol:
