That's awesome. I can't take advantage of it from Afghanistan, but maybe next year I'll have to make a trip from Texas to NJ. Much respect to them for doing it, though.

We had a Buell blow up at Mid-Ohio last year during a track days. Spilled oil at the end of the back straight and 6 people crashed because of it. :td:

BAH! No biggie, I've ridden tracks in sub 40 degree temps.

Just wait three laps for your tires to come up to temp instead of 1 or 2, stay loose on the bars & listen to what your tires are tellin ya.

Unfortunatley theres always the yahoos who dont heed that advice, I had 2 rather cold days last year one at summit and the other at NJMP, what I didn tlike was having to layer up underneath to stay warm sort of hindered my movements a bit. Not the worst thing in the world but was annoying.

Yup, I hear ya. The cold definitely brings on more crashes.

Shit, two of our VERY experienced track day staff went down at our last NJMP event in October & attributed it mainly to cold tires... but it's not like it poses a significant danger or anything.

They said they'll give you the option to ride... I'd still ride. But I'd ride to the conditions.

Same goes for the rain... crashes are more likely but I'm still out there slip slidin away :)

Riding in adverse conditions improves your skillset.

I prolly would too, I will take the cold over rain any day.

I dunno... if I can stay dry in the garages & warm on the track, I don't mind getting wet. IMO, riding on the track in the rain is a shit ton of fun as long as you're not cold & wet.

One of my most memorable track day moments this year was a 2 day event in the middle of the summer. It was drizzling on & off for most of the second day & I forgot to bring my rain tires so I was on my Diablo Supercorsas, which are terrible in the rain... but I was instructing the beginner group so it was no big deal circulating through everyone and keeping up with those that wanted some help on the track.

The last couple sessions of the day the traffic started thinning out as people were leaving early, so I went out there, circulated through everyone a bit & knew pretty much everyone out there was riding well & didn't need much on-track instruction, so I started picking up the pace... by the end of the session I was having an absolute BLAST spinning up the rear & pushing the front consistently all over the place.... soooo fun & good practice to boot.

Probably Ida remnants swinging up. We got a nice front holding that shit at bay near the Mason-Dixon line. Gonna keep up cloudy, but mostly dry.

Dem sneaky bolts

In the short amount of seat time i have had it def doesnt vibrate anywhere near as bad as marks bike. I ma just hoping the weather holds out so I can get some more riding in on it before winter hits. I would hate to wait till spring for the break in oil change/service.

You better start taking some time off work to ride. You're running out of time.

I know, I was planning an upstate run yesterday then sun night got asked to cover a shift at one of the jobsites. I am not getting as many shifts as I previously was so i had to jump on this, plus the whole I look good for helping out sort of thing.

I think we will have at least another couple of weeks of decent weather. 10 day forecast looks ok so I can still get out and get a few short jaunts in with the 40/50 degree temps.
