I am just curious I have my Busa and ridie with a group of guys that have them as well I am 52 (well as of 11/21 I will be) most of the guys I know with busa or this kind of bike are 40 and over. I know for me that I no longer enjoy the pounding that a mordern 1 liter bike gives me or the ergos (to old to fold I guess)

I had mine when I was 35.

I bought it because I didn't want a back breaker, but a nice grand touring bike. Not sport touring, but grand touring.

It was GREAT, and IMHO one of the most perfect bikes I've ever owned.

It had the right amount of power (not too much, and not a slouch) and didn't scream to get there.

I loved that bike the most of any I've had. And I absolutely loved the color combo and accents.

However...it's the one and only bike that attracted so much attention it made me nervous to ride it anywhere. And when I say anywhere I literally mean ANYWHERE. I could never let it out of my sight....when I did it was surrounded by unsavory people "looking out" while admiring it.

I got rid of it before it vanished.

I am 38 now, and bought my 08 when I was 36.
I rode a bus in Montreal in 2000, and have wanted one ever since.(I was 28 at the time).

A buddy of mine just bought an 05 and he just turned 39.

Most of the guys around here who have them are over 35, and are 6'+ 200lbs+, and are lazy riders that don't want to rev the piss out of a bike to get any power.

I would like to see the sales figures for the ZX14 because I rarely see any, except for in the inner city where people take them and stretch/modify them. I think the Busa attracts a more diverse crowd.

I definitely see way more Busa on the road around here. I was out riding yesterday and rode by the dragstrip and there were several Busa's that I saw as I was strolling by but don't recall seeing any ZX's. It was just a quick glance but I do recall several Busa's.

I have only seen maybe 10 Busas on the road around here since I have gotten mine.
I have only seen two ZX14s in the same amount of time.

I think only Ray Charles thinks the 14 looks nice. Might have something to do with its sales success.:skep:

I love the back end on the zx14, but I'm not crazy about the front, I'd like to have the busa with the zx14 rear end.

A ZX14 or Busa will be my next purchase, just a matter of when, funny but the wife text me this morning that a guy at her job is selling his in the color scheme I want, but now is not my time, cause I want one but also want to keep the ones I currently have too.

Does my old ZX-11 still count?

I guess I've seen equal numbers of Busa's and ZX-14's.
If it's a Busa, its a black or spanish guy riding it, 25-40 yrs of age
If its a ZX-14, its a white guy riding it, 30-40 years of age

Eventually I'll get one. More fitting for the riding area I live in.

In fairness the Busa has a 9 year head start on the ZX14 I love my 05 but I have a lot of performance suspesnion and comfort. It is odd to me how many people have a rather negative view of this type of bike, but I guess what works works

Im basically certain that I will have a busa at some point and it keeps looking like itll be sooner than later. Ill probably have a gix 750 or some sort of liter but the busa will probably be soon after, especially since Im only 23 and my back is already a mess.

There are a couple of 25-30 guys here who ride twisties pretty quick on 14s and a busa.

Yep, I have two young guys (in their 20's) that ride with us, both have zx14s, both can ride them pretty hard and one in particular can REALLY rail on his, no problems what so ever for him to keep up in the twisties. It will always be more about the rider than the bike.

And the shitty part about saying someone is fast through twisties is that others will be like "anyone can open it up in the straights on a bike that big." This guy out runs people through corners and goes through more front tires than backs.

Same here lol.... He's a big guy too, so it's funny to be behind him when he's fully leaned off the bike.

The size thing is funny to me because the day I bought mine I was closing fast on 400 lbs (these days 225) which is why I knew as it was rolling off the floor it was getting a turbo.
The first Gen ZX14 have much nicer suspension than the first Gen Busa's it wasn't until I rode my friends ZX bike that I decided to have the forks done. Anyone who is riding a Busa gone to the GSX Rims? Notice any difference in handling?
