I'm trying to get the last few rides on my ZR1100 before winter bares it's ugly head. So this morning, I push the cycle out of the garage, bungee my lunch box to the rack and off I go. My water and thermos are in my backpack.

It's a nice easy ride this morning, a little cool but relaxing. I get to work 18 miles later and park the bike.

I get off and NO LUNCH BOX  :willy:
I remember putting it on but it's not there now. :tremble: I call my wife and have her check next to where I park the cycle but it's not there.

She offers to check the way I go from home, I start from work and backtrack. :willy:

She found the first bungee 2 miles from the house, the second bungee another mile down the road with the lunchbox. :dthumb: She dropped it off on her way to work.

Today I had a very good corned beef and swiss sandwich with smashed chips and a dented soda. What really blew my mind was my hard boiled egg was intact

That is why my lunch, rather breakfast, gets put into the tank bag.

A net is on the list. Gasman, that looks pretty good too.

Worst part was my magnet clip on sunglasses for my prescription glasses were in the lunch box. They want $75 for another pair.

I'm glad I got them back

My tail bag is mounted to my rear rack . . . and I bungee over it too . . . just in case.

That's why I keep all sorts of stuff to eat for lunch in my desk, so I don't have to worry about it when riding to work.

Use a backpack.

I have a water jug and a large coffee thermos in my backpack.

So my co worker/friend Jeremy was heading into work on monday morning and turned around since he didn't feel so good. He happened to home the same way I go to work.

I started describing how I lost my lunchbox and how my wife found it. He described the exact location of the lunchbox and the other bungee cord. :lol

You need to find another way to carry your stuff. Someone I knew ended up doing a 100 yard slide with the rear wheel locked, because her saddlebags got jammed in the spokes.

Looks like it works very well. They're on the wish list.

I just ordered two nets from Bike Bandit. They were marked down to $2.99 each. I had a $10 gift card from joining the AMA so my out of pocket cost was $1.93 :dthumb:

Ouch!

A guy that worked on my team down in FTL bungeed his backpack to the back of his bike. Parked his bike in the parking garage one day to find that his back pack wasn't there, which contained his new $3K ThinkPad. Went out back on I-95 to find it in a hundred pieces, all over 2-3 lanes. :lol He was a fat slob dork, so it made it amusing.

I'm not a fan of using a backpack on a bike, in any way. They aren't shaped right to be bungied to the tail. If they're worn on the back, then they have a nasty habit of flipping the rider over onto his face in a slide. Properly made luggage is readily available, generally safer, and not all that expensive considering the possible alternatives.

Even if this guy had worn it on his back, he'd still be rolling like a ball. :lol
