View Full Version : Dragon difficulty set to extreme?

Looks like the dragon may get tougher to tame if they continue with this new addition they are doing on 129. They are slowly creeping up from where 129 left 411 towards the lake. The equipment disappeared when they hit the lake, but it may be a new addition next year. Hitting these at lean will be bad.

For the harley guys, this is going to be a nightmare. Some of them can barely hold their lane well below the speed limit with how poorly their bikes handle. Stupid fags.

keep you in your lane. It's rumble strips, like the ones that wake you up on the interstate.

I would say both, they can use the guise of safety as an excuse and make it more unrideable for bikers.

Thats all of southern Illinois......I bought a brand new WHITE Altima in 96 2 weeks before we had to make a trip in july to my wifes family to show off the baby...they live out in "children of the corn" Centralia where all roads intersect at 4-ways between 500 miles of corn. After 2 days I gave up trying to keep the tar off the car and just came home and bathed my new car in diesel fuel to get all that crap off

Heh- except around here, they aren't hitting the really bad roads. They're blowing it on stupid shit in town- like "back in only" angled parking on one side. So you CANNOT park if you go into town the wrong direction. (And no, they're not one-way streets)

it has it's place... like in the mountains... good traction under snow and takes more ice to make it completely slick

but yeah... everywhere else it's just cost savings.... they have it in quite a few places here in MS...

FWIW: it was called Chip seal... or Chip and Seal in Oregon...

For the harley guys, this is going to be a nightmare. Some of them can barely hold their lane well below the speed limit with how poorly THEY ARE ABLE TO HANDLE their bikes.

Fixed for accuracy. Unless it's a chopper w/ retarded rake, Harleys handle just fine, especially at 'cruiser' speeds - there's no excuse for them wandering all over & out of their lane other than having an inept operator.

As for the gouging - other than being a minor annoyance when passing, I have no problem with it since I treat the double yellow as a concrete barrier except when passing. It will likely cut down on on the asshats that routinely use both lanes, riding like they're on a track - that would be a positive, IMO.

Depends on your comparison, if it's to choppers, they handle better. If it's to what we ride, they handle a lot worse. My comparison is to what I am use to, so my assesstment was accurate.

agreed

The Harleys I've ridden handled nice enough. No issues what-so-ever when ridden at legal speeds. Clearance can be an issue but if you are "cruisin" they are fine.

I'd have no problem with double yellow because the only time I cross them is when turning into a driveway or parking lot.

Trip

Clearance can be an issue but if you are "cruisin" they are fine.

Clearance is the complete issue here, I consider that part of handling, you need to go well below the speed limit as I stated on a lot of these customized harleys to make some of these turns without leaving your lane. You will notice a lot of them going at parade speed to make it through the gap in their lane and still scraping parts.

Neither of you have it as bad as it is here. I know PA is WAY better.

Remember, we have it just as cold as WI yet we have much much higher truck weight limits. I think one of the highest in the country. So that just jacks the roads up like you wouldn't believe.

There are roads out here that Ford uses to test their cars suspension on in real world.
