Chain drive, significantly lighter, better fairings, more power, and almost looks like a duc. I wonder if they still would of let it run in the 600 class.

Guess we won't see it though, unless it's rebadged Harley.

Several Buell riders who attended the “last ride to the factory” at Buell’s facilities in East Troy, WI last month were told this bike was basically ready to go into production, and a race variant was in the works for WSB competition. What’s nuts is that HD killed the company at this point, and moreover has stated that they will not sell Buell Motorcycle Company and that that decision “cannot be reversed”. What? If my balance sheet looked like they say theirs does, I think I’d be willing to consider all offers. SOMEBODY needs to build this bike.

if thats true im pissed. gotta hope some outside investor can pry enough money under HDs nose to get em loose

truth. I'm not a fan of that bike, but Buell was really starting to come into it's own.

stupid HD.

Hey- it's the first "normal" looking Buell!

Wonder how much better off they'd be if it came out 10 years earlier?

Good thought. Guess we'll see at the end of the month when they release the pic. It's entirely possible. That was rumored to be a 1199cc 200hp version of the current 1125R.

true nuff. If this turns out to be the case its time to start beating hd over the head with open checkbooks. Might see a street version yet. This also makes me wonder how much interaction there was between buell and the FIA because this bike, their fate, and FIA's new stricter homogolation rules are conspiratorially close together

I hadn't paid much attention, because honeslty, the HD dealer I bought my bike from, told me they sold 4 buell's in over a year. So I just thought HD was dropping some dead weight to stay afloat. I didnt realize they were just being fucking pricks!

If I wasnt already planning on trading for a Busa, this would be the final nail in the coffin.

I dont know anything about the FIA, the CIA, the FBI, or any of the others. But I do know if the rumors are true and this bike was a 200hp beast than it shoulda came out 2 years ago instead of the 1125R thats out there now. Sales might have been better and Buell might still be in business.

I found that most dealers that didn't move many Buells had self induced problems. They didn't advertise, or promote Buell at all, plain and simple. How many guys that are coming in to look at an Ultra Classic are going to see a 1125R and go "wow, screw the Ultra, I want THAT!"...

right, none.

Well what is it? I thought they were making money? Because if Buell was making $$$$, they are doing far better than HD is atm.

I just dont understand why those idiots would drop a brand that isnt in the red.

And I also dont know why they wont give Erik the rights and let him go elsewhere. That pisses me off the most.

good news is you can buy the goodies and change your mild mannered 1125R into a fire breathing 1125R thats street titled, when u factor in the dealer discounts and add the cost of the kit it is still well under the price range of most 200hp bikes

Arent they even smaller than yours?

Cuz if they are, theres no way i'd be anywhere near comfortable on it for any length of time.

Would be in my top to choices for a track bike though (If I had a track to go to), along with another rc, which is a fairly big bike.

Have to have drewpy verify, but from my 10 min on the RC, the 1125R is far roomier and more comfortable.

And you guys do realize theres as many posers and assholes on sportbikes as there are on HD's right? Its not exclusive to one brand.

I did not know that, and admittedly, i've never sat on one. I loooooved my rc though.

As soon as im off workers comp and back to work, I plan on trading. Unless unforseen financial problems occur, I should have one by the time the snow is gone.

Hell, I might even keep the harley and add the busa to a mortgage  But I doubt it.

Here too...

But... The large majority of Sportbikers do the same, except its tim hortons, with shorts and sandles.

Idiots come in all shapes and sizes, and ride all shapes and sizes of bikes.

I dont defend Harleys bikes because I think they are superior. I defend them because I, and others, enjoy riding them. No different than sportbikes.

And I obviously still love sportbikes, or I wouldnt want a Busa.

nope.....gotta be the blue w/gold wheels like karl's...

and as for that buell, I like the idea of an American sportbike, but that one looks rather dull.....The vents on the lower fairing have no style, and the whole thing seems to bulge out too much.......prolly cuz of the side radiators

Apoc

thats way nicer than the blue, though I do like the gold wheels.

An 1199cc 200hp twin?
Either unlikely or too high strung to last more than 200 miles between rebuilds.
If the 1198R is only making around 170hp, where do you think Buell/Rotax are getting the other 30?

The Aus mill in the 1125 is buildable. I wont swear to 200 hp but the Duc 1198R can produce 220 at the crankc in WSBK trim and that engine lasts all weekend long in competition. I figure a 1198R in a high state of tune could push 190-200 in the street for a buncha miles under alight right hand. So i dont think a built 1125 would be much different.

Could they come out like that in production, Highly doubtful.and since there is no Buell motor company impossible. Who fronts the capitol?

Erik Buell Racing is showing a Euro Spec 1190 at 185RWHP. It's not 200RWHP, but it's pretty good.
