1) You must be either a legal resident of the United States or otherwise legally permitted to participate in the
Program in the United States.

This is a legal note for a casting call for a show in the US. Obviously I'm not a legal resident of the US but....can I be "legally permitted to participate"? :scratch:

What exactly does that mean?

It probably means you must be legally allowed to work in the US. They phrase it that way so the onus of determining your legal status is on you, not the show.
