Who has seen it? Was it good? It didn't come to my town so I'm downloading it.

I don't think it was released in Canada at all.

I could be wrong, but I think a buddy of mine went to see it at theatre. Which surprised me, I didn't think it was even released yet.

I'm sure I'll watch it more than my share of times.

I went and saw this last night and it wasn't bad. Unfortunately it wasn't deserving of the Boondock Saints name. My biggest complaint about it was the lack of style. Felt more like a comedy than an action movie. Overall the storyline was great, had a lot of good elements but was executed poorly. I don't get the 8 year time lapse since at the end of the first one they made it sound like shit was going to start hitting the fan, then they live on a farm for 8 years? WTF? As I said before, felt like they were really trying to hard here, they use the same jokes multiple times and it is more in your face than the subtle comedy of the first one. The action is ok but not great. The ending is obviously setting it up for a third movie which I hope is better as it sounds like they have a good premise. As a stand alone movie it's nothing great, hopefully they change director and get some writers that take a little more risk and have some actual talent. I won't spoil the movie though, if you haven't seen it I would just wait for the DVD as there is no real reason to see it in theaters.

It will never happen. The writer and director is one person, Troy Duffy. He also wrote and directed the first one. Additionally he owns the rights to the concept. He isn't going to allow a Saints movie that wasn't written and isn't directed by him (understandably).

He is also supposed to be an especially remarkable douche nozzle in a town full of douche nozzles (less understandable).

Ill agree with most of this. It definitely didnt have the same feel as the first one and seemed like they put more effort into the comedy than the action, but I ddi still think it was pretty good. I have no real complaints with sepnding the money to see it, but if you want more of exactly what the first one was, youre going to be disappointed.

It sucked BAD. The script detoured wayyyy too far from the original in style. And so did the directing. Too much slapstick bs comedy. Character building on at least one new member was terrible. Lost its dark feel entirely. The music score was too out of place and there was too much. Fail on all fronts

I didn't think it was horrible but it wasn't good. I agree with you on the slapstick BS and I COMPLETELY agree with you on the characters. The new mexican side kick started of pretty good as a badass when you first see him then just gets stupid. The new detective, Jesus, where to begin...

Seriously. Me and my buddy had to go watch the original again to get that shit out of our heads. LOL And the really disappointing thing is that they clearly set this up for a third. I can only hope the writing and directing rebound considerably.
