Same. But, the weather here is so unpredictable that any time it's near freezing you're pushing your luck by being out.
It's quicker for me to ride the bike to work. It actually takes as much time to bike in to the door of my building, than to walk from where I have to park the car down the street.

(1) These people can't drive when it is clear out, let alone when it RAINS. Fuck when it snows.
(2) There are no methods to remove or manage snow or ice on the roads here - no sand, no salt and certainly no plows.
Not even sand? Really?
I know its not the norm, but you'd think they'd be a little bit prepared!

There is no reason to spend millions of $$$$ every year for an event that only happens once every few years. Snows here all the time and it never fails that there is one last snow storm that they aren't prepared for and they dont salt or sand the smaller roads.

Scroll up...
It IS fun to watch on the traffic cameras though, when safely far far away from THEM. Down here, we have what are called Fly-Overs. They are 3 or 4 bridges stacked on top of each other going in every direction. When it freezes they put barricades up to keep people from trying to go up them... the fun starts when someone gets halfway up - then slides back down backward and try to control their vehicle. It's like a big game of pinball.
We also have Highway 183 - it's a bridge for about 10 miles. Sand doesn't do much on solid ice.

No shit! Seriously the whole key to driving on snow and ice is to slow down and brake early. Unless your me then you speed up and powerslide through the corners, but the braking early part still applies.
