So can you just get one really big present for hannukah or do you have to get one for each day?

Did christmas piss you off as a kid?

No, my parents hooked me up. We got taken care of for all 8 nights, then since my mother is a gentile we had christmas too. Still do both holidays

The morale of the story: we fought, we won, we ate!

Nice

Not asking to be a dick, I just don't know that many jews. I live in a redneck bible belt and grew up in a catholic domain.

Yeh no offense taken. I just grew up in a 2 religion house so really I'm not the right person to ask. Even my kids are catholic.

However, as a population in the US Jews would have invented a holiday to compete with christmas if hannukah wasnt already there. Other than the US it is almost a non holiday, its really considered the most minor non important holiday. The only reason its big in the US is because of christmas

My good friend Glen is Jewish but he is only Jewish when it is convenient. He never goes to temple, never celebrates Jewish holidays and so on. His wife who is Lutheran will ask him to put Christmas lights on the house and his reply... "You put the lights on the house, I'm fucking Jewish." :lol

yes xmas pisses off some (most i would venture) jewish people for the inescapable in-your-face and in-your-head/ears aspect. oh and we all love how it gets longer every year. this year i saw some signs / lights before halloween.

Mine go up before thanksgiving, but don't turn on (unless I am testing) til the day after thanksgiving.
