I didn't know where to put this (admins, feel free to move if I screwed up...)
My friends Anthony and Michelle just purchased this out of foreclosure. I know these folks real well so I know this place is going to ROCK!
There is a lot going on here so if you have any questions post up or e-mail them directly. They are opening in January and plan on having events all through the year.
If you are in the Blairsville area please stop by and say "hi". Tell them you heard about it here.
I'm just so excited MY friends did this...free drinks....
Anyway, the web site is up but a work in progress. I I scanned their business card so you can get a quick idea.

Cool! I'll have to check it out next time I'm up that way.

...Just to add,
They are looking for someone to rent the shop space they have up there. My understanding is (and Michelle can and will correct me if I'm wrong )that whoever rents the shop will have their own business there, will pay them space rental and that's it. I'm guessing they will need to have someone in the shop all summer (reasonable hours) and part of the fall and, well, whenever there is something big going on during the non-peak season.
Just thought I'd throw that out there...

Sounds like a great adventure for them. I hope it goes as planned and they build a successful business.

Thanks. I hope so too! This has been a dream of hers ever since she could ride.
If not now...when? Right?

So I posted this on another forum. It tends to be mostly sport bike riders. I get the impression that because there are only cruisers on the business cards that they feel snubbed and won't visit. The front page of the forum shows only sport bikes... Their loss but could that be so?
Do you think that it matters that much? Did anyone here get that same impression?

I noticed it right away. Someone might take it that this place is more for cruiser bikes. I'm the type of person that doesn't care what you ride, so I would go regardless.

I think it does. They should have an equal number of pics of both types of bikes because like it or not, if I saw an add with only Cruiser's in the pic I probably wouldn't' go there because I would 'assume' a certain type of environment. When I'm searching online for stuff first impressions are everything. The first glance is the difference between me hitting 'back' or clicking to see what the sites about.

So I talked to Michelle about the cards and she assures me they are temporary and appreciates the feedback. Keep it coming!
Don't forget to check out the website. I think you'll find it more welcoming than the temp. business card.

I kind of agree on the cruiser pics thing. Leads me to assume it's going to be a baby Sturgis. And then the sportbike pic in the revolving banner on the website show a naked forearm and hand- and really bad form if the veins popping out on that arm are any indication
:edit: Maybe we could give them something to replace all the cruiser pics. Think we could get a discount for having next years rally there?

Check out the contest.
Your input is definitely welcome and as for the discount on the rally... I'm sure Michelle is open to suggestions and conversation. I know for a fact she would talk to you about this.

Yeah, it's just a though. I lost track of the '10 Rally threads months ago

I just got back from the New Year's bash at the cycle resort at Copperhead. Had a complete blast. Wow! We worked our butts off (not literally, I have plenty left) to make the place look good and it did.
This is a picture of the main lodge meeting area/fireplace taken from the lobby/mudroom whatever...
If you happen to be in the area this summer, or whenever, drop by and tell 'em Cruzergirl sent ya! It won't get you a discount (hell, they might raise the prices) but it will make me feel good...

Do they have enough room for all of us though?

How many are there? There are 12 lodge rooms, a bunk room (which will sleep 6 I think) and 8 cabins (which will sleep up to 4 comfortably) right now with plans for several more cabins to be built soon.
I'll take more pictures when I go up there again on the 15th for the Birthday party/Pig Roast.
I think this would be a perfect place for the TWFix South Rally next time... but, I may be slightly biased.

that sounds like more than enough, we had between 15-20 people I believe at two last year and things got a litlte cramped.
Guess we should see what trip and the others think. I know th eplan was to spend about 6 days at the gap, most likley at fontana village. I like the idea going to 2 different places as its new scenery and things to check out and liked how things panne dou tlast year splitting the time between the 2 places.

I think Michelle is looking at sponsorship on this site so there should be a lot more information/deals out there for us (on this board).
I would love to hang out there for 6 days (I just did, in the freezing cold... they even did a polar bear ride... 37 miles, from what I hear it was 30 miles too long... )

If they allow and there is room, could people pitch a tent?
I was thinking this too - TWFix Rally.
