Some info about the excavator.

The new Liebherr mining excavator: driven by two 1,492 kW/2,000 PS 16-cylinder V-engines, the Liebherr R 9800 boasts a 42 m³ bucket capacity. In conjunction with rapid loading cycles and tremendous ripper and breakout forces, the R 9800 offers high loading capacity and is the perfect loader for 220-t, 290-t and 360-t mining trucks.

Operating weight
1,748,266 - 1,772,517 lb
Engine output
2984 kW/4000 HP
(SAE J1349)
Backhoe bucket capacity
54.90 yd³ @ 3,000 lb/yd³

Shovel capacity
54.90 yd³ @ 3,000 lb/yd³

54 cubic yards is the shovel capacity, so if my conversions are correct that is 54 cubic yard = 10, 906.597 403 gallon [US, liquid]

How cool would that be to be able to play with equipment like that. I'm happy when I get to mess with small trackhoes, backhoes, skidloaders.

I don't think I'll be trying that with the Busa anytime soon.

T

I'd like to see if you get wet with the Aerostitch suit in that type of situation.

Thats one big mother. It would be fun to operate for a bit but that wouldn't last all that long. Running the small gear can be more fun a times. Digging out a foundation to repair leaks can be more of a challenge. One wrong move could cave in the foundation or wall, take down a tree, take out a passerby, or you could roll the equipment into a hole (that can happen in the be stuff as well) plus for the most part the small gear will move faster.

I also like running big gear and its cool to load a tandem in minutes but sometimes the small gear just adds to the challenge.
