Leave the snot nosed brats at home. It's 3 hours long.

There are enough reviews out there, you can read them and see if it's something you want to drop $4 on.

It's a tree hugger movie for sure, but if you enjoy fantasy and CGI, it's a great 3 hour escape.

Did a quick wiki read of the basis of the movie. Sounds like some humans are evil and destroying the enviroment storyline.

I'd be interested in the visual aspect of it if there are some epic big battles but I doubt I'll watch it in a theatre. I'll wait till it comes to DVD

As far as the storyline goes, I agree with what you said. It almost felt like it was based on Pocahontas... Settlers come to new place find things that they want and go and take em...very English settlers meets Native Americans.

Still a good movie though and it is rated PG-13

Lazy eye. Why didn't they put an eye patch on your good eye for a while, when you were a kid? That usually equalizes unilateral vision dominance permanently.

I have the same problem, and when I asked about it, they said nothing will help it. My right eye is so dominant, that I did not know I needed vision correction until I went to the eye doctor.
I can still read shit from across the room, only because my right eye takes over completely.

I have very strong right-side dominance in EVERY aspect of my body, but they did put a patch on my dominant eye briefly as a kid to correct the condition. The human brain is pretty "plastic", and can be molded to take on new tasks rather easily.

our experience was that it was a little off-putting the first 5-10 minutes, but then you get used to it. you may get a brief feeling of vertigo, but if you go through life scared of something like that, whats the point ?

Tbh I thought it was going to be garbage when I went to see it. The commercials do a horrible job at capturing the atmosphere of the movie. Sure the tree hugger aspect is there, but I assure you.. you'll quickly forget about it.

There wasn't anything 'shitty' about the plot, IMO - simply unoriginal. Even so, there's still a LOT of metaphorical truth in it, and it was still far better & more cohesive than the typical bullshit Hollywood churns out. For the entertainment value, even at $15 for IMAX 3D, it's the least ripped-off I've felt in a long time.

As for it just being a 'cartoon' - that's about like dismissing 'talkies' as just a movie with noise! :lol:

I'd highly recommend it - IMAX if possible. Be sure to get there early enough to get good center seats. The immersive 3D technology is stunning!

I want to live in the forest with them and sleep on their corn husk tree hammocks!

My only complaint was that the 3D glasses didn't fit me too well and I had to constantly push them up.

Actually, there are no tv's capable of true 3d on the market yet. CES2010 last week, mostly focused on the production of them and how ps3 would be at the forefront of it,.

When something is popular, lots of haters come out of the woodwork. I thought it was a great movie. I saw it in IMAX 3D which is more expensive than a regular movie. Its worth it to me but apparently Im in the minority because I actually enjoy going to the movie theater, no mater how good your home theater is, it will never match a quality theather.
