Mozilla has crashed 5 or 6 times today which has prompted me to find another browser. I'm trying Opera, Chrome and Safari...any thoughts from someone who has used these in the past or is using them now? Thanks.

I really like Mozilla but it has been crashing left and right lately... I have Win7, do you think that's part of the problem?

I used opera for a while, until chrome came out. Opera is a great browser, and has all the features I really want, but chrome has all those same features and it seems to load pages faster. Mozilla has all the same features, but doesnt seem to run as fast, and it crashed on me on a regular basis. Chrome also doesn't have any crazy tool bars or too much clutter. Just a few tabs on top, and an address bar, the rest is all view area.

My vote is for chrome

Yea Opera Unite is pretty cool, I was steaming to my PSP and my phone earlier this afternoon. So far I'm down to Chrome and Opera, since Safari has also crashed a couple times now. All of the browsers work really fucking fast!!! Opera Turbo is kinda cool but I'm not sure that it's any faster than normal...

Chrome is my default. I like it the best. I have to use Mozilla for hotmail since it doesn't seem to work right with the chrome.

Tigger, you may want to try creating another profile in mozilla. This seems to fix a lot of issues with the newest upgrades of firefox.

Hmmm... I did update FF not too long ago. What do you mean by "create a new profile"? Won't it just recognize me by my ip?

I'm on Firefox right now. I fucking hate Firefox. It sucks. Period. Prefer IE7. There are some nice features Safari...but the Mac is at work.

Hmmm...I erased FF from my computer and re-downloaded it and it remembered all of my bookmarks, settings, etc... kinda weird. Maybe, I did something wrong, we'll see. Thanks, Trip.

yea, I think that Opera is faster and has some cool/goofy widgets like my phone does. We'll see. I'm used to Firefox and I've been virus free since using it so I would hate to change.

I'm not familiar with Opera. Never heard of it, in fact. I've always used IE...but lately Facebook has been acting shitty with IE...so I've been using FF. But I just don't like it. It's slower scrolling down with the arrow keys. I dont like the fonts.

I think you can get Safari for PC now, no?

Nothing displays everything correctly, that's why it's good to have a few browsers installed.

Well, then at least Apple is consistent. Quicktime for PC blows monkeys too. Guess they just don't write well for Windows.

Yea when I downloaded Safari, Apple was "kind" enough to bundle in about 5 other programs... I'm going to have to clean out my recycle bin.

Yeah, they learned that trick from MS.

Ugh, nobody cares to be decent anymore. "Win at all costs" can = fail. Companies need to learn that not acting like dicks still counts to some people.

Apple has been a huge letdown the past couple years on that front.

Yea me too until now... I'm on Opera, it's the only browser that hasn't crashed so far. I reloaded FF last night and it crashed again. Windows jumped up with some suggestions, I reloaded using the suggested settings and boom crashed.... I don't know, it's kinda sudden and strange. I'm considering *gasp* INTERNET EXPLORER 8 since I have the 64 bit version...

I use safari and firefox about equally on my mac. Have used camino before. It is a browser designed by mozilla for macs. Loved it except for a lot of sites weren't compatible with it.

It's seriously weird! I restored to the 4th and downloaded McAfee. I also turned my firewall and defender programs back on, they were off. I'm about to clean out my bank accounts! This shit is creepy!

Merry Christmas, you have what I like to call the polymorphic clusterfuck.

Do you happen to have a friend that is REALLY good with computers? Because if you don't, I don't see this ending well. These things aren't something that can be removed by any ONE piece of software. This type of infection usually takes a dedicated and experienced computer person (using a number of tools) a few days to completely eradicate.

Hmmm...well I hope that you're wrong... So far everything is okay and I think that it's some stupid Windows Update. When I Googled it, I saw about 1,000 very similar complaints about constant browser crashing after an update. I guess we'll see. I'm not even worried, I still have another year or so on my warranty and they can just send my ass another computer for all I care.

That was my set-up before Windows 7, some of those add ons no longer work for me. I need to research this further when I get back from testing out my new grips!

No Tigger. Firefox has the option to set up profiles on the same computer. You auto use the standard default. You can create other ones too and set them as default.
