Damn man, just got done setting up my office so I could hook my new Sony Bravia up and play some HD movies with the HDMI media player my old man got me.
So I rearranged, set everything up, took the TV out of the box, hooked it up...and it looks like someone hit it with a baseball bat. Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck. Fuck.
I've got the receipt...but there's no way to prove it was like that when we bought it...so we'll see. It also means standing in the return line for like an hour and possibly having a faceoff with management. Fuck.
Oh well, I'll go back to the living room and watch my wife play Dragon Age Origins on the Xbox. Turn the Xbox on....RED RING OF MOTHERFUCKING DEATH!!
Goddamnit. Is this because I don't believe in Jesus? Cause I swear I can be converted...

Wow!!! That sucks bro! I'm sure that they'll take your word for it...is there any damage on the box? Oh and since it's Christmas, I'll leave the XBox thing alone for now....

I hope your exchange goes well, man. Bummer about the Xbox. I am definitely never getting one of those. Of the newer consoles, I already have a WII, and I might get a PS3...but the red ring of death seems to pop up more often than I'm comfortable with.

Hey do you have the Nyko Perfect Shot pistols? If not, I suggest them for games like Chicken Blasters and House of the Dead. Way better than fucking around with the Wii Zapper.

There is absolutely no damage on the box. I'm not sure if that helps or hurts my case...we'll see.
As far as Xbox...this is my second one. Microsoft replaced my first one a few months ago. Its cool for gameplay and Xbox live....but the reliability is a bad joke.

The government doesn't regulate them enough for his liking.
Walmart is pretty good about exchanges. They rather just take a minor hit and make you happy and get you out of there and have you come back another day and buy more stuff.

True. Infact I think they send the TVs (or whatever product) back to the manufactures if something is wrong. Walmart is just making sure you aren't bringing them a 32" claiming it was a 55" that shrunk.

Well after the juice labeling problem I wasn't sure if you were able to play a video game or products associated with video games without 100% reassurance from the government that it is actuallyu a video game. I'm just concerned for your well being.

Actually, believe it or not a great deal of returns are destroyed on site and the manufacturer gives a credit "on faith" or the store eats it. Of course, I doubt that this will be the case with a flat screen...

Well, it all worked out for the best. I exchanged it for an LG 32" 1080p LCD for the same price. There was no line and absolutely no hassle from customer service. I'm using my new TV as a monitor while I type this. Its awesome!

There are serious problems with certain new TVs when used as RGB monitors (if you are using a digital connection, you MAY be able to disregard the following):
I have found terrible incompatibilities between various LCD TV/Monitor units, and various video chipsets. I am currently typing using my 24" 1080 Samsung panels (2), but I have struggled sometimes to display resolutions that are supposedly compatible, but won't display correctly.
I found a free piece of software that I would recommend to ANYONE having resolution problems, incompatibilities, using multiple displays, or just someone looking for more control than available from the driver that ships with Windows or their Vid card.
It allows direct access to the chipset on the card, as well as custom/non-standard refresh rates.
This shit fixed my fucking world:
