Are there any good free programs that will convert avi to dvd?

James, I have no idea, but I do know that my cheapo Phillips ($40) DVD player will play just about ANY format 5" optical media, including CDRs with AVI files on them - no special prep required.
Oh, it also hacked to "region free" as easy as Googling the model number and the words "region free hack".

Use VLC media player to watch .avi files. I don't really mean what you mean convert them. AVI is a file type and dvd is a storage device.

I know AVi is a file time and I know what dvd is, What I should have asked is what program can I used to burn a dvd that can be used in most dvd players.
