I have made like a smoothie every day since I got back from Florida. This thing is awesome. I got it as a Christmas gift. I think it was suppose to be a gag gift, but I love the damn thing.

I plan on trying to make salsa and grinding up some cheese for nachos this weekend.

I've had one for a few years.

They are great for small jobs.

Let me know when you outgrow it, I'll introduce you to the real deal. ;)

I have had a heavy duty blender for years, it never gets use because it's such a pain in the ass to clean. I love smoothies, but I hate cleaning.

I really like this because the mixer container is also a cup and the blade is stupid easy to clean.

Is the real deal just a big blender or individual serving thing as well?

It is full sized.

It is also self cleaning.

I do go smoothie crazy, when I stay in chattanooga for work there is a smoothie king right outside my hotel. I hit that shit several times a day.

Seriously? I've looked at these but wasn't sure about them.

Yeah, seriously, it's pretty awesome. My big blender is a big pain the ass. It's not self cleaning though. This thing cleans up quick.

What's the real deal?

I have an old Vitamix.

It's basically a stainless blender cup (replete with spout) fitted with hammermill blades, and a 2.5hp router motor as a base.

:lmao:

It also has a blade reversal feature for even higher speed blade/food collisions.

Something ridiculous in the hundreds of MPH, IIRC.

it's got that little recipe book, I haven't really checked it out. I just throw a bunch of shit in it and see if it tastes good right now.

I've got my strawberry banana recipe down now for portions of each and other ingredients to make it taste like smoothie king. That's my favorite.

We got a big ass full size blender deal. It sat in the cupboard for years. We've actually been using it a lot lately.

They're good shit. I'm a smoothie addict, but the work involved with a full blender has really pissed me off. I was using those new smoothie packets made by yoplait i believe at walmart in the ice cream section, but they are expensive as fuck. This works much better and I get fresh fruit.

How big are the cups with it?

I was thinking about getting one because I drink a smoothie for breakfast everyday and have gotten my husband into it as well.

I make a 32 oz smoothie though, so the regular sized blender works for me.

They aren't that big, probably 12-20 ozs. Somewhere between a coke can and a coke bottle.

I like different smoothies than my wife and this works out well cause she can make hers the way she wants and I can make mine the way I want.

I got one last year as a gift (gag as well I think) and love it!

I make a smoothie every single day for breckie. Works very well.

I've also made pesto and a pasta sauce in it.

Oh yeah that won't work.

Right now, hubby makes his at like 4 am, rinses the blender then sets it on the side of the sink to dry. When I get up I put it back together, make my smoothie then rinse it again. Then we wash it at night. It's kind of a pain.

You got it.

I have the 5200.

My brother-in-law and I got into a debate on the merits of the Vita-mix (him) vs The Magic Bullet (me) over a few brews.

I was so convinced that I had to try one out. Once I got over the sticker shock, I had to concede.

How does that work? The self cleaning?

Drop of soap in half-container of water, turn on for one minute, rinse.

What's the real advantages for someone like me? I have no problems with the magic bullet, does it crap out easily? I have had no issues with the blades as of yet, will they dull quickly? If it keeps performing consistently as I have been using it, I don't really see the need to spend 450 on a vitamix vs the free magic bullet I have that works great.

Really? It's pretty popular at smoothie places. Tropical Smoothie and Smoothie King both sell it. You can't really taste the banana, it basically tastes like a reese's cup.

If I am going to spend that kind of money on a blender it is going to have a gas engine attached.

Got my sister one of these Breville, this thing is a beast, motor is 900 watts and sounds like a jet engine spooling up. You can dump a whole apple down that chute without slicing it.

We got two food processors as wedding gifts and returned one and sold the other on eBay. We just use the blender when needed, otherwise we slice/chop/dice/mince/whatever by knife. I like having control over granularity, etc for each ingredient.

I had a smoothie this morning. :D

That's an awesome gift!!!! OSP and I totally want the Ninja (which is basically the same thing...I don't know the difference between the two).

Everytime there's a commercial on, we always talk about how awesome it would be to get one. We saw one at Walmart for a pretty cheap price, but it wasn't at the top of our priority list. I might have to get one now...It sounds TASTY!!:whatwhat:

I wasn't being sarcastic. I know they exist and at some point will buy one. There are a few manufacturers selling them selling for ~$200. I guess a $500 electric blender would be nice, but I want something that can be used tailgating or on a boat without needing a generator.
