Already had our share of excitement here. Got a call that a guy fell off a wall, we got out to him prety quick bu twe had to board and collar him and take him out in a man basket via crane which was kinda fun.

I gotta buy the safety guys and a few other guys lunch now too because they all did a kick ass job helping me and the guy who got hurt:rockwoot:

Stuff like that is what we're here for its just nice seeing how a lot of guys pitched in to help which allowed me to do my work and not worry about all the other minor stuff.

This was the first real emergency at this site and overall everyone did rather well, few small things we need to work out to make extractions more efficient for next time.

I gotta talk to the guys to see if thye can send me some of the pics they took to show you guys.

Now all the second guessers are comming out of the woodwork. On these sites part of our job is to minimize injuries that are reportable to osha. One thing that makes it reportable is being given prescriptions.

Turns out our guy was discharged from the ER and he is fine, but they gave him scripts for pain meds so that makes it reportable. So my chief PA is all pissed and apparently the big safety manager will be all bent out of shape on this too.

Whats realy pissing me off now is becasue this turned into a rpeortable theyre going to question my judgement on why I sent him to the ER. They hav enever seen Tom pissed/angry but if they try calling me on it I can guarantee i will not be nice about it.

Funny how it all went from good job/nice work to why did you send this guy to the ER and make it a reportable.

should make for a fun afternoon.

its bad enough I sort of had to earns some of my money today, much less the fact I had to venture outside when its cold

Its the whole second guessing thing by others that realy pisses me off. I wind up talking withthe project manager and hes actualy ok with everything and reiterates what all the others loose touch on sometimes and that the guy is ok and doesnt have a broken neck.

If the higher-ups don't want to deal with OSHA then tell them to send a memo out that they aren't too call you unless they see bone...fair nuff?

you would think, the big safety guy is kinda nuts with this and can be unreasonable at times. Our chief PA usualy deals with him and hes flipping because hes saying hte big boss will flip out.

I told him to knck off the monday morning QB shit and told him would you rather have this scenario or i keep a potentialy unstable pt here and send him out for x-rays and have something realy bad happen.

Its no where near as bad at this site but the other one the safety guys would get mad at us for a reprtable. Like its my fault a guy fell and broke his arm. They get too wrapped up in #'s and trying to have no reportables. We had a big blowout with them in the summer and they realized they needed to take a step back and let us do our work and respect our calls. I will do what I can to minimize thes eproblems but am no way in hell compromising patient care to make thier numbers look good, becasue if I do and something bad happens you know they wont back us on something like that.
