Went and got me the Icon TiMax 2 textile for $155 bones. Always wanted one of these since they came out but wasn't going to spend that much on one.

Guess I should clarify that I was looking for leather and in A* or Teknic brands.
Pictures would be nice though...

Jeez. You dont have to be so picky. Leather is nice but I sweat my butt of in a mesh jacket. LOL

The jacket I really want it like $500, Kushitani.

Yep, they've been on sale for a while. I keep looking at the mesh version... I almost bought the Fieldsheer mesh for $69 but have held off. I still may get the mesh for $217...

I bought the Joe Rocket Honda winter jacket (forgot which one) for a great price too months ago. I"m gonna wait and see if the mesh ones will drop some more.
I may take back some teknic gauntlets I bought and get a pair of these.

I'm still not sure I like gauntlets.

Here we go.
As you can see the front is shorter than the front cause the back has a built in foam back protector. Rough measurements.

see? Welcome to my world, buddy! You try and post a review of a product and advise everyone of a good deal and this is what you get. I for one appreciate it. I knew about before, in fact Bike Bandit was selling then for $117 on a one day sale but I want a mesh jacket. I keep waiting for the mesh version to go even less, it's $217 right now... Of course, I'm risking missing it completely. I'm going to have a mesh by the rally. I'm expecting pretty high temps in June.

I wasn't even goin for a review. From the pics, the mesh looks tght knit like the textile. I think this summer I'm getting one of those preforated mesh jackets. They're thin but I wear alpinestar armor under my jackets anyway.

Yea you got the non-mesh version... The mesh version lets ALL the air through. It has VERY sturdy armor but I would definitely put it in the better than nothing/just for cruising around category of protection.

There is a fault in the design on this jacket. There is no armor in the upper shoulders. There's an external pad and a metal plate. The plate covers below the shoulder and the ext pad covers more of the top of the shoulder. Nothing is there at the pivot. I'll snap a shot.

So are you wearing the A* Bionic shirt? I have the Dainese version but it gets really hot and would kinda defeat the purpose of wearing a mesh jacket.

how is the mesh material... the one I got, can't remember the brand... but the mesh material is crazy itchy...
Rangerscott

It's itchy at first cause its moving your hair around. Then you just get used to it.
The TiMax does have a good feature I like which isnt in my other jackets. Plastic snaps for the insert. Metal ones clamp too tight and you end up ripping them out.

naw the one I have is itchy because of the seams... and it's kinda a harsh plastic feeling material...
figured they'd use under armor type stuff

Now I know that these won't be everyone's style but I am honestly stuck!
The Icon Contra is about $200 for me and the Timax mesh is $217, what do you think?

Yea but it has large mesh panels in the front for cooling (the Contra), if you're refering to the Mesh TiMax, oh no my friend it is almost totally mesh.

You can see the metal plate is on the side and the top pad. There is no CE armor at the shoulder. The plate looks more at the joint, but when its on, it feels more lower by my bicep.

Hmm so maybe I should look closer at the Contra... The thing is, this will be a strictly cruising jacket. The jacket that I will wear in stead of riding in a t-shirt when it's hot out. Period. Hmmm...
Thanks man, we can go back to you explaining to me why there's nothing wrong with the word nigger if you want. Hahahaha!

nah, I have at least 4 textile jackets, I want a mesh jacket. Thanks though! I looked at that Scorpion jacket for quite a while...
They also have a Fieldsheer for $69 that would work for my purposes but, well I care what it looks like too much, I guess.

There are some mesh mesh jackets. Ones I'd recommend armor underneath if you want all the airflow you can get.
