If you had to choose, and if all else were equal (money, benefits, etc...) would you rather....

Work 20 hours a week at a job you hated (just disliked the work, doesn't mean it's morally objectionable or anything)

or

Work 60 hours a week at a job you loved?

Which would you choose and WHY?

this is a no brainer, it's what i'm doing now.
60 hours doing something you love is 1000000x better than working any amount of time at a job you hate.

if i started a job and didn't like it, i would only be there long enough to find something different.

Wow that's a tough one...depends on the actual job. It depends on what I hate about the job...if it was high stress and I got pizzed all of the time that wouldn't be good at all so I'd have to pass.

I don't want to work 60 hours but if it was something like interviewing girls for "positions" at a strip club or judging wet T-shirt contests or driving exotic cars and or bikes or something well you know...:idk:

Depends on what it pays... I'd clean toilets for 60 hours a week if I made $500/hour. But to answer your question, 60 hours a week doing something I love is better than working 20 hours a week doing something I hate.

I am doing that between the two jobs I have now. Love them... Hate a couple of the people that I work with but love what I am doing...

20 hours, because I rather be at home than at work.

60 hours doing what I love hands down. Not that I won't work 20 hours doing something I hate... in Michigan you have to take what you can get... but I would prefer the 60 doing what I love.

It would depend on the shifts. If I could do the one I hate for two 10 hour days Id probably choose that because then Im makin the same money and still have 5 days off a week. If it was broken up into like five 4 hour shifts where I had to be there that many times a week Id choose the 60 hour one that I love.

I'm the same way. 20 hours a week is only 4 hours a day (or as someone else suggested, maybe 2 10's)... so that leaves the bulk of one's time free to pursue whatever else it is they love, whether it's hobbies, another job that's more rewarding, volunteer work or whatever.

See I'm money motivated, so if the 20 hour a week job paid enough so that I could still afford everything I want to do, then why not..

Although, if work was racing a motorcycle or something killer like that, I would rather be at work. If it was just a normal job that I loved and not some sort of fantasy gig, I would want the 20 hour hate one.

point there... if working 20 hrs paid the same as 60 hrs at the other, I may be inclined to suffer it out.

im goin for the 20, with Trip and Nee.

I learned a loooong time ago that a job is just a job. It brings in money to survive, but your job isnt your life, if you lost it tomorrow youd find another, if you died 2 weeks from now theyd replace you. There is too much else out there to worry about a JOB.

If it was something i wanted to do, like racing or something, then it really wouldnt be something I considered a job. I would be getting a check for something I loved and it wouldnt even be work to me.

See, I took that as both jobs paid the same, like $10/hr

Hell yeah, then if i could get by only working 20 hours that would be PIMP!!

Well if the salary was identical and you were not paid hourly then it's a no brainer... 20 hours a week for me please...

when I love my job I tend to be a work aholic... and seeing as I work 50-70 hours a week anyways... and I hate my job... I'd work 60 with one I love no problem.

but 20hrs a week is what 2 hrs a day? the only problem I see with that is I'd fuck'n be broke all the time spending all that time riding or someother activity that costs $... stressing me out further.

60hrs a week hands down... now to find a job I'd actually LOVE...

I'm with these fucks... Less work, more play... afterall, that's the only reason I work anyway... to get done and go play.

Plus, with 20 hours a week, I could get another 20 hour a week part-time gig and make even MORE money.

Money and all benefits are the same, I'll take the 20 hours at something I hate (am annoyed with, dislike, whatever). Gives me more time to work at something I love and make some extra cash, or simply enjoy life and my free time.

:werd: Work to live, don't live to work.

Yeah, my supervisor tried to say some shit like, "this is a good career." Mother fucker, please. This is a fucking job. I'm doing it because I can't find something that I truly enjoy doing. This shit pays the bills and that's the only reason I'm here. It's a pretty fucking easy job, too, except for the fact that I have to put up with your micro-managing ass. GTFO and maybe I'll be a little happier with my work, bitch.
