Just ordred a set of 190/50 120/70 Michelin Pilot Powers from this www.jakewilson.com. Price: $176.98 shipped! Even cheaper for 180 rears.
Going back now to see if they stock race rubber, but I didn't see any. I did see 2CT's for a few dollars more, but not much.
Use coupon code jw009 for the extra $20 off at checkout

I got 2 sets of these Jan 26 for the motard for $157 a set
i don't know how these guys are making money...Dan, that set of tires you got would cost me $166.60 plus shipping to you. And here you are getting them for $10 over my cost...which is the lowest cost out there, with shipping. I really wish I could help you guys out. I really hate these internet places, they fucking suck!!!
Caster...again your set is $13 above my cost.
This fucking blows, oh well

They're selling Pilot Powers and 2CT, not Power Pure. I'm sure they're just blowing out stock. For what little street riding I do though, an "old" Pilot Power is just fine by me. :)

So for me to get them to you at cost it would be $190.

The powers have served me well at the track and am a mid pack intermediate rider, I was going to try the stones this season but saw such good prices on the powers and I know they work for me so I went with them again.

They get greasy in temps over 90F on the track. I know a number of people who crashed on em.
They are OK for the street, unless you are pushing the front end.
I have to believe that these guys bought huge lots at closeout discounts from Michelin.

Its that or theyre clearing em out for th elatest greatest must have tires. I was paying between 230-270 for powers 2 yrs ago so now if I can get them under 200 why not. They work for me in track and street so I will stick with em for now.
I know most of the advanced riders/racers i am friends with dont care for em but untill I get to that level I will stick with what works.

Have you considered the Pirelli Angel STs?

Have you considered the Pirelli Angel STs?
You know, you're the 2nd person to recommend those... have you tried them? How's the grip vs mileage? It's hard to split the difference between long wear and decent grip.
Have you considered the Pirelli Angel STs?I just installed a set of those on a customers bike this week...they are pretty cool, i can't wait to get a review on them.
I am selling those too on sale if anyone wants a set

DO NOT like.
Go with Pirelli Diablo Stradas if you have to have an "extended mileage tire". You should be able to find a good deal on them since they're being replaced by the Angel.

I haven't personally but I've heard good things from those that have... I'd consider them but I honestly have two sets of Bridgestone tires under my bed now...

the pilot roads are known to be less then ideal sport tires, but extremely high milage
the road 2's are getting awesome reviews from the local riders in the area

I had done some agressive riding on the priller with them and had no issues, granted I wasnt going to keep up withthe faster guys on regular sportbikes but they did fine all things considered.
I had also heard the same stuff about the road 2's

i think its all relative, there is a local guy on a old gpz 750 turbo that rocks out the roads like no ones business and i bet 90% of ss riders wouldnt last three corners before he is out of sight, and alot of ppl are using the road 2s with good success
its funny all of the guys in the area that are fast are on odd bikes

They just never felt right. Didn't seem to grip very well and tracked badly in ruts and bridge gratings and tar-and-chip (most of the roads around here). The handling and feeedback were strange. And I'm one of those weird people that doesn't like the feeling of "falling" into corners. The Pirellis have a more round profile, so they feel more stable and linear.

Never realized there was so much hatred for Pilot Powers. They've done well by me for trck days and street riding. Great price for a good tire IMO.

I haven't heard much bad about the Powers- other than they are street tires, not DOTs. I was talking about the Roads.
I love my Pilot Powers. Never had the least squiggle from them.

There was a guy rode his SV to the track, luggage and all, pulled the hard bags taped it up and tracked it with Roads on. Afterward he pulled tape and reattached the bags and rode home. He had a 2 hour trip one way.
He was doing pretty well
Here's a pic of him in front of me. No extreme lean angle, but it was the second session of our first track day.

Yeah, but we're in a 'buy what we need' mode right now - have been for some time. We've purchased little to nothing in the 'want' category for a while now. So until I actually need them, I won't be buying them. :(
