Hitting that starter button for the first time after a frosty winter is :boobs: Don't forget to check tire pressure before heading out on that shake down run.
I think the winter curse has been lifted.

And watch the traction.
That pavement is slippery when accelerating.

Hells yeah, the futura isnt back together yet. Took the buell out to get inspected yesterday. Was odd at first it didnt want to turn for anything but then it got better when I was heading home. I did forget to check the tire pressures so will take care of that before i go. May be better keepin em a hair low since its cold out.

We only had ice on the ground for a day or two, my new gear I can ride well below freezing without much care. It's not really been any different for me than when it's warm.

Does your BMW have heated grips, or do you just have really good gloves? Also, what gear are you wearing when riding in the colder weather?

he's got both...
I'm good riding the DRZ down to about -5 or so... (hit that in dec) I'm cold but it's bareable... anything colder than that... and I'll pass.... unless I get heated gear

Damn, -5 is fucking cold. And why was your bike stuck in Omaha?

rode it up there in late dec before xmas, with the plan that I'd trailer it back behind my girlfriends truck... but she got snowed in, in Rapid City, and couldn't make the drive. my tires were pretty much shot... had about another 500 miles on them at most, and the trip home is 1100 even by the shortest route. couldn't find any local shops that had my size in stock, and didn't have enough time to order a set. so I borrowed his car for a month and a half then drove it back up in mid Feb to ride back down.
I'm not sure to be honest that what I hit was truely -5... didn't feel that cold when I stopped... but it was windy and that's what the bank reader said... :idk: I do know I didn't want it to get any colder...

In addition to the tires, it is best to take a complete walk around the entire bike checking it over (even if you have been able to ride all winter).

I also have my own "circuit" that I take to shake off the rust and allow the senses to return.
