It's not often we really take a look at numbers in general, but I want to share with you a special number. 21. So, why 21? Well let my list tell you the ways..
Blackjack (aka 21) - The point of the game is to get or get close to 21 without going over and beat the dealer
21 Gun Salute - ceremonial military honor performed when 21 rounds are fired from a battery of artillery pieces
21 - the number of spots on a standard cubical die (1+2+3+4+5+6)
Port 21 - Standard TCP/IP port for FTP connection
Pier 21 - (not to be confused w/ the Port) the "Gateway to Canada" for immigration
21....Jump Street. Good ol' Johnny Depp.
21 - NASCAR driver Bill Elliot
21 - The atomic number of Scandium (rare earth mineral)
21st President - Chester A Arthur
21st Amendment - repealed the 18th Amednment (prohibition)
21 - Age to legally drink in the US
21 - Age to legally gamble in the US
21 - a drinking game.... a fun one at that.
Twentyone - a TV quiz show in the 50's.... got busted for being rigged. heh.
21, the movie - "They proved the Vegas Blackjack System was beatable...by beating the hell out of it."
Centry 21 Exposition - another name for the Seattle World's Fair on April 21, 1962
But, most importantly
21 days until I'm back home.....

Ya know, I didn't see until the Capn' came by that ya were frontin' on my list..... Capn' takes care of the gambling statement....
So... Scandium..... from the great almighty wiki.
"Scandium (pronounced /ˈskændiəm/) is a chemical element that has the symbol Sc and atomic number 21. A silvery white metal that is always present as compounds, scandium ores occur as rare minerals from Scandinavia and elsewhere, and it is sometimes considered along with yttrium, and the lanthanides and actinides, to be a rare earth element."
Furthermore:
"Applications
Since it is not a very common metal, scandium does not have many applications. If it were more common, it might be useful in the making of aircraft and spacecraft structures, probably alloyed with other metals.
It is used in lacrosse sticks; a light yet strong metal is needed for precise accuracy and speed. Backcountry tent manufacturers sometimes use scandium alloys in tent poles. U.S. gunmaker Smith & Wesson produces a few variations including a large, medium, and small lightweight revolver with a frame composed of scandium alloy and a titanium cylinder.[1]
Approximately 20 kg (as Sc2O3) of scandium is used annually in the United States to make high-intensity lights. [2] Scandium iodide added to mercury-vapor lamps produces an efficient artificial light source that resembles sunlight, and which allows good color-reproduction with TV cameras. About 80 kg of scandium is used in light bulbs globally per year. The radioactive isotope Sc-46 is used in oil refineries as a tracing agent. [2]
The main application of scandium by weight is in aluminium-scandium alloys for minor aerospace industry components, and for unusual designs sports equipment (bikes, baseball bats, firearms, etc.) which rely on high performance materials. However, titanium, being much more common, and similar in lightness and strength, is much more widely used, with tons found in some aircraft, especially military ones.
When added to aluminium, scandium substantially lowers the rate of recrystallization and associated grain-growth in weld heat-affected zones. Aluminium, being a face-centred-cubic metal, is not particularly subject to the strengthening effects of the decrease in grain diameter. However, the presence of fine dispersions of Al3Sc does increase strength by a small measure, much as any other precipitate system in aluminium alloys. It is added to aluminium alloys primarily to control that otherwise excessive grain growth in the heat-affected zone of weldable structural aluminium alloys, which gives two knock-on effects; greater strengthening via finer precipitation of other alloying elements and by reducing the precipitate-free zones that normally exist at the grain boundaries of age-hardening aluminium alloys.
The original use of scandium-aluminium alloys was in the nose cones of some USSR submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBMs). The strength of the resulting nose cone was enough to enable it to pierce the ice-cap without damage, and so, enabling a missile launch while still submerged under the Arctic ice cap.
Scandium triflate is a catalytic Lewis acid used in organic chemistry."
You probably have a Scandium alloy bat.

Stay safe man!
BTW
21 gun salutes are most often 3 volleys from 7 rifles or cannon.
Bill Elliott was never the 21 in Nastycar. NASCAR Team owners own the numbers and the 21 was owned by the Woods Bros Racing Team for whom Bill Elliott occaisoinally drives for in his semi retirement. Bill spent most of his career in the number 9.
On the other hand there have been some other famous 21's. Troy Bayliss & John Hopkins comes to mind...Then you have Ladanian Thompson of the Chargers, Tim Duncan of the Dallas Spurs,
Mig 21s were pretty prolific jet fighter of Soviet Bloc nations for decades.
2 plus 1 is 3, number of the holy trinity.

Yeah the bat is probably alloy... I'll check when i get home.
It's definitely an alloy, most likely aluminum. If it were pure scandium, it wouldn't be a good bat and would be REALLY fucking expensive
I did a project on scandium alloys. Just a small amount of it added to 6061 aluminum can make a great difference in characteristics.
