Ok, I'm a sucker for funnels. I must have all kinds of them, right along side my turkey baster. Some purchased and some made of old plastic 2 liter soda bottles.

Like so

Even a 20oz

I have a bunch more, including the drag spec black oil filter pan drain dilly. You get the idea.

So when HD came out with these fancy new funnels I just had to get em.

First up, Oil Catcher Drain Oil Funnel (http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/gma_product.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=84552444877481 8&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302290431&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302290431&bmUID=1268697167075&bmLocale=en_US).

http://www.harley-davidson.com/media/images/productphotos/PNA/63794_10_VIEW2_25b2b.jpg

Then the primary oil fill up (http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/gma_product.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=84552444877482 0&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302290431&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302290431&bmUID=1268697577062&bmLocale=en_US)

Now they even came out with a few more

Trans Funnel (http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/gma_product.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=84552444877481 9&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302491575&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302491575&bmUID=1268697790629&bmLocale=en_US), that I don't need, already have one similar (even pictured above).

http://www.harley-davidson.com/media/images/productphotos/PNA/63799_10_VIEW2_25b33.jpg

And a road funnel (http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/gma_product.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=84552444877482 1&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302491575&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302491575&bmUID=1268697596954&bmLocale=en_US), which I'll just skip on principle that they should endorse such ideas. But maybe the high milage bikes need it... who knows. I think if maybe on a road trip.. you took a bike that burned some, then I would just take a normal funnel. Otherwise, I think the paper jobber would just get crushed.

I have yet to use my 2 new funnels but I know they are going to work great. Hey sometimes its the simple things in life that get us thru the day. LOL.

Yea, I don't do funnels anymore since I bought a "hose-cap" thingy... Basically, it's a cap that came with a number of adapters to fit any bottle, that has a 6'' long by 1/2'' diameter hose attached to it. Works great.

Heh. I bought one of those to fill the transfer case on my truck. A normal funnel just makes a huge mess. Cost like $3.

FAIL! Looks like the retarded new fuel cans. HATE those things- where you have to angle it just right and press the spout and need three hands.

So it will work on the standard size qrt mouth, but not the large mouth version of the qrt. I already have something similar. But mines a twist cap that has a built in funnel thing... much cooler.

A buddy of mine did a cross country trip on a 2008 glide something or other and he would burn through a quart of oil each 1000 miles or so. He also did the NJ to daytona trip on a nighthawk or some other harley bike and burned through over a quart on the way down and over a quart on the way back.

Anyway part of his tool kit is pointy drink cups with the bottom cut off. It works like a charm.

He's got an issue then Derf. Mine don't do that.

I use a skinny funnel to fill my primary. Looks like your opening is bigger on the derby cover.

that drain funnel for under the oil filter is coming home with me from the shop this weekend. Love that idea. my rag under the filter and clean as you go method didn't work badly but that looks much better. LOL

I used to make a path out of foil when I had my Zuk...sorta kept the oil off the headers.

Piece of a coke box works great for that.

Yeah somebody in another forum said that its only for twin cam... hmm... I'll test it on the sporty but it may be a while. Its got fresh oil.

That is a common meathod. Works real well too. But I can't wait to try this.

Cardboard from a cereal box. Simple, disposable.
