Who likes to wait until the nicer weather, like now, to start on their mods or maintenance that they should have done over the winter?

Cutty72

I do sometimes if I don't get it done late fall. Winter is too cold without a heated garage, and early spring I'm usually busy fighting an impending flood.

Sadly, I get to do mods in summer this year, cause that's when I get back.

The few times I want to do mods, I do procrastinate. this year however I gave up doing it myself and a buddy at a local shop is hooking me up. Trying out a new front sprocket, cleared up a few lil issues I had and next week new sparks plugs to see if that takes care of it. I just dont have the time.

I procrastinated from doing a lot of needed things to the SV over the fall largely because I wasn't riding.. I was putting $ together to move, and I didn't want to get frustrated with it and be moving with my bike in a million pieces. But now I'm relocated.. and my procrastination is now coming in the form of "why don't you just buy your roomie's bike, then deal with the SV later?"

My garage had a car and two bikes all winter(plus all the other stuff, like lawn mowers, garbage/recycle bins, etc), so there was no room.

Just this weekend I changed my engine oil, primary oil, adjusted clutch, adjusted primary chain and bought and installed a touring seat.

I have HIDS to install and a set of Pilot Road 2's.. Wish I had a garage to do it all in over the winter.

These HIDS are kicking my ass. I have no idea how to do it..

I'm wiring retarded, and I want to do both high and low. Everythign I've read says I need relays and timers.. But, according to the kit I can just hook it up...

You should be able to just hook it up. I ran a relay on mine b/c I've heard of the stock wire harness melting. So it was an easy decision to run a relay to the battery. The stock harness just assures they turn on and off like the normal headlights on mine.

I bought a car relay on ebay for like 10 bucks. I do wanna put a timer on this season too...but I suck at electric too...so I'm gonna enlist the help of Gas Man again.

I'm thinking I'm just going to put a switch in line, so I control when they get power and when they don't. But I'm leaving the brights alone and the dims will be HID's

Tmall. If u need any help just let me know. I'm no electrical whiz but I did one hell of a wiring job on the ultra this winter. 3 hids. One with hi/low ability and 2 spot lights. All on delays. I had to re fig how to wire the hi/lo headlight. Not even the delay guy knew how to with the newer hi/lo hid bulb kits.

lawnmowers not needed during winter time- to the shed!!! garbage can stink- to the outside!!! Car can take a little snow-Outside!!! Set up the bikes on a lift or jacks and do the work. I am fortunate enough to live in close proximity to Gas Man so I can use his garage. I could even put up his bike in my garage to make room in his and Uma could still park in the garage. Don't have a winter here, but summer is dumb hot. I have to wait until just before the sun comes up to do anything. I'll be sweating still because it's like 95, but not as bad as in the middle of the day when it's 110+. I gotta change the oil in both vehicles, strip off the street fairings of the R6, throw it on the trailer and bring it in for service.
