I'm so glad I was wrong about what this thread was about. I used the thread preview thing and saw that you'd bought the "majic jack" and immediately assumed it was some new version of the fleshlight involving ecstacy or witchcraft. :panic:

Yeah, all I gotta say is VOIP phones are a godsend, especially out here. I roll vonage... been a livesaver and relationship saver I tell ya.... Gotta keep them lanes of communication open ya know...


Like the vonage because w/ most devices you can change the bandwidth setting on them.... big + when out in an area where bandwidth is very limited.... IE, Afghanistan.

Hey I already posted this once but...It's a free trial. You get the unit for 30 days zero charge on your card. If you keep it they charge you $40 for the unit and the first year of service. I almost went Skype because I could use my PSP as a phone with them but I think they're only free to other Skype users or something. Hmmm I'm gonna check into Skype more.... that'd be phat to use my PSP as a phone,this is a college town so there's tons of hot spots!

Ok I'm back and Skype is also very interesting...for about $25 a year you can talk to anyone unlimited using a Skype phone,a pc or a PSP. The catch is you have to have WiFi. Boy if towns start going totally WiFi like I've heard talk of...the cell companies would freak! Some of the Skype phones also plug into a phone jack as well but who doesn't have WiFi at home?

Well,I got the Magic Jack today and it works exactly as advertised. One of the cool things,which they all probably do,is it keeps track of your calls,incoming and outgoing,on your computer. If you get a voice mail,it sends you an email to the effect and attaches the message to the email. It will manage your contacts and of course you can make or take calls from your pc. Pretty cool but I'm still thinking about Skype,so I can use my PSP as a mobile phone. I've also checked out the Mylo from Sony but for what it costs a guy could buy a Skype phone and a PSP.
