Due to a litlte scheduling mishap and no coverage I am going to have the week from hell. Because the month begins/ends midweek and my side job schedule is made monthly this got overlooked.
Working 7am-11pm today
wed 7am-4pm here run home sleep for about 4 hrs then go into the ER late to work an overnight.
thus leave the ER and come back to the jobsite for another double shift
fri another 7am-11pm day
Then fri leave early and go out drinking

Good thing, if there is one is that I dont do much while at the second job so its just a case of being here and putting in the time.

It's still time for someone else.

True, but at least when second shift starts it quiets down so I can sleep on the exam table.
Besides it makes me smile when I get paid each month.

I have done some weird shifts, long shifts, and some boring long hours but I always tell myself it could be much worse.
Like a Marine on Tarawa in WWII, with the 101st in Bastogne France in the winter 43. Anywhere in SE Asia in the late 60s. The 'Stan circa 2010. Always something in history to overwhelm you...

Hours like that are the one thing keeping me from going back into Ag when I get home.
