Sky Diving in September in Indy? Who's Down!?

I pitched this idea to Rae back a couple months ago... but I was wondering who'd be down to go sky diving in Indy? I'm think'n we could either do it the Monday after the 15th or... if people have to get home... we could do it on one of the practice days... 12 or 13th

I'd prefer Monday but I'm on leave... and if someone wants to go but can't make it Monday I'm down to change.


it's not a big deal if no one wants to... I'm going regardless... it's been something I've been wanting to do for a while... figure this would be a kick ass addition to my mid tour trip...


I don't know prices yet... Rae is gonna look into them when she gets a chance... but the ONE site that listed the price it was $175 but I'm think'n if we can get a group we could get a discount... :idk: best not to count on it...

if the place is like every other I've seen they'll offer pics and video of you jumping for another $20 each... worth it if it's your first jump I've heard.

What are the weight limits? All the skydiving places I looked at have a weight limit around 230 or so so fatasses like me cant do it. :(

Of course stepping out the door is the hardest part! Once you're out, all you have to do is fall. Okay, it takes some effort to get your arms and legs right in the freefall, etc., but that's not my point. Who in the hell would be afraid to open the parachute?? Besides, I'm assuming we're doing the tandem jumps with an instructor, since it takes several jumps before you can do it on your own. And if it's tandem, all the instructor has to do is peel your hands off the sides of the door then jump out. Again, you don't have much control. :lol:

Ft. Wayne is way too far and on the north side. Greensburg is southeast. Where is Jerry's? East, west, north or south? Or just give me the city name and I can tell you. I work up in Indy and live in Terre Haute (southwest by an hour+), so I can possibly check out the places on a Friday before going to work on Saturday.

I had a roommate who used to jump and he was well over 300lbs... He couldn't do tandem jumps, but had to cut his teeth doing static line jumps... I have a real funny story about him hitting a house...

Ok. That's not much closer than greensburg, but they're in the same area. Both are much better choices than Ft. Wayne.

No. Had the chance to go to Indy for Nascar too, turned that down as well.
