nice, I had the bike prepped and readylast week. But last week I worked a lot of hrs in a short time so I was tired most of the time then felt kinda sick over the weekend and figured let me play it safe and drive. Now were back into the swing of things so the car prolly wont move much till novemeber.

last year after we bought the house moss started growing under it on the driveway

I don't really commute on my bike. I am considering buying a pedal bike and commuting on that this year.

 Good point. I did basic maintenence stuff and changed out brake lines and added risers but any major mods are waiting until winter again (I think i say that every year )

Rode quite a bit this weekend. I wish I could commute on the bike but just doesn't work with my job situation. Supposed to be 90-91 degrees today...what happened to spring ? :lol

Spring kinda snuck up on me, I needed a new voltage regulator and I dragged my feet in ordering one, then it took a while for it to arrive. And also my little oil leak set me back. I had th ebuell I could use in a pinch but realy dont want to use it as a commuter and dont want to ride it on the jobsite with all the dirt and mud here.

I do have a few mor eprojects it needs before the rally though. Going to replace the front springs and throw on some new rubber, otherwise I think were prety much good to go.

I rode to work yesterday. Skipped out today. Too much wear and tear on the bike.

Pansies  I've already done a "long" trip on my bike. Philly and back and all around town here and there.

My poor bike needs a tune-up. Been too busy with all the other shit going on, and I still haven't changed the coolant, brake fluid, plugs, etc...

This year I decided no more commuting on the bike for me. Slabbing it all highway not only increased my chances of injury/death, put too many of the 34,000 miles on my bike, but it took the fun out of riding.

I did ride last weekend though! :)

If I had a job right now I'd be commuting on the bike. Oh well guess I'll just have to suffer riding around all day in the mountains instead.... sucks!

51 mile commute and a toll bridge so its def worth it for me. toll is 11 bucks roundtrip in a car but only half that on a bike.

Nice... I've got about 1500 miles this year...

Slight problem in NY, they have barriers on the tolls so you need the ez pass to get through :(

Slight Solution...Ride Behind a Car going thru easy pass, I do it everytime I go into Philly.

I wish my Company paid Mileage...I asked, They Kindly Declined...Lol

Gas Man
04-06-2010, 06:48 PM
Well we use to have a company truck but they took that away.

If your company doesn't pay milage then you need to track that and claim it on your income taxes.

Mine is 100 and that is why I'm not commuting anymore. Between 77 and 85 I figure I played roulette as long as I can get away with it. Not to mention I need my bike to last, the new VFR is fugly!!

Mileage for driving back and forth to work? Never heard of it, seriously. Isn't that part of having a job?...Getting back and forth to work?

Yes... but my base work location is 2 miles from home. Takes 3 mins. I also have 1 more station and 3 more junctions I have to go to regularly.

Work is suppose to provide a truck at the base location for me to use to the other locations. We use to have it. But as part of reducing spending some moron figured it was cheaper to pay for the shitty colorado truck and pay 3 dudes $300+ a month in milage.

F it! I'll take the milage. I make out like crazy on the bike plus I'm on the bike. When I get a new car that gest better mpg then I'll make out there as well. I dont care. I'm just glad I don't have the 1-800 blow me sticker on the back anymore. Plus regardless of when/where, they will never know when/if I get into a accident. F them and that BS. They don't pay my insurance or my deductable. They can kiss it. They do say that I'm suppose to follow all rules like it is a company truck... again. F them... I'll do what I want its my car, they are only paying for its depreciation and expense.

I've been commuting daily for about 6 years now. Once you figure out how to carry everything it's not a pain.

Your insurance should pay for the damages. Thats why you have underinsured/uninsured motorist coverage, after all.

1,000 dollar deductible. My parents have an autobody guy who rents shop space from them so he is going to give me a deal on it.

Cutty's rule of thumb.

If you have a deductible on your insurance, you should have that much $$ available to pay said deductible to get your shitz fixed when it gets fucked up.

Shitty part is that she lives across the street at a battered women's shelter. Obviously doesn't have much, if any, income so it wouldn't even be worth it to fight.

You won't get it. Don't bother. Same thing happened to my wife. Some scum bag with a suspended license, no job was driving someone else's car with no insurance and hit her from behind. Brand spanking new 2009 Honda Accord. Our insurance company went after him but determined he has no money, will not have any money in the near future. It came out of our pocket to fix the car.

Cutty72
04-07-2010, 02:59 PM
My sister delt with something like that too.
Uninsured motorist hit her.
In the end, her insurance paid for the damages (less the deductible) and he went to jail.
