Is there a gps out there that doesn't cost a left testicle and I can make/connect my own route points like you can in google maps?
I know there are ones that u can upload routes, but I don't know many people that pull off the road, bust out a laptop and make a route. I want to do it on the fly.
Ex: Point A to B goes through a set of towns but later I decide I want to go through a different town on the way, but am still keep destination B.

I'm gonna probably get the Garmin 220 when it finally shit's the bed
not anything with a decent price made for cars or bikes, you need something like ebbs suggested or spend out the ass for it

no... on the 220 you CAN... even says so on garmins website... plan on your computer with custom routes... then import.
hoewever... I'm thinking of the 660 now...as I found a place I can get one for about 50 more than the 220....

however thats not what he is looking for, he wants to do waypoints on the fly. It doesn't say it can do that, just import them.

I have my Droid, but in the event of me going down, I'd rather a GPS gets destroyed than my life line.

My Garmin 60Csx will let me input route points directly into the unit. It's a bigger pita than doing it on the computer and uploading it, but I've done it.

I think this is one of the biggest downfalls of GPS units. If I'm on a road trip, I want to see certain places along the way and would love to tell the GPS what those points are, without having to go one point to another, then program in a new destination every time.

I'm wanting more of the car orientated gps's. The new Magellan roadmates allow you to make multiple points.

I know the 660 review on web bike world said you could add points to a route as either destinations or waypoints... wonder if the 220 would do that...

I will have to play with my 550, it's pretty much the same device without stereo bluetooth

yeah the 550 still has a price tag $100 over the 660 too... so should be just as capable

glad I bought mine used from pete I like the buttons and not all touch screen. You can skip songs and stuff without having to fiddle with the touch screen.

I just scored A 660 brand new for 350. The guy bought it then totaled his bike and doesn't wanna ride anymore... Didn't even get it out of the box....
