I am selling my one of a kind 1999 Yamaha R6. Sergei Fedorov formerly of the Detroit Red Wings was the original owner. There has only been one other owner and then me. THIS DOES NOT LOOK LIKE AN OLDER BIKE. Runs excellent with 13K miles
Sergei modified many things including:
The front bug lights with smaller clear super LED turn signals
Replaced the muffler with a Jardine high performance muffler
Replaced the standard windshield with a tinted blue shield to match the bike
Re-stitched both seats with blue and white leather and added padding
Took off the backend bug turn signal lights and replaced them with white LED lights
The motorcycle also has a new rear tire (Dunlop sport max qualifier) with 1000 miles on it. The bike has been kept covered inside a heated garage the past 3 winters.
I also have a helmet and a Joe Rocket riding jacket for free if you purchase the bike
I have many more pictures if you are interested.

So, the turn signals get replaced and it all of a sudden is not like an older bike, and it's one of a kind? Ok, sure. Don't ya just love people like this?

I wouldn't pay that much unless it came with Fedorov's (supposed) ex-wife. She denies the marriage.

Hmmm....psssttt it's on the picture.... Their quality is "good" and the price is great...$550 shipped complete with (another) windshield and tank pad (to give away). There are other companies that claim better fit but they are about $300 more. I had to "tweek" mine to get them on but the plastic is high quality-80% of stock and the fit is maybe 70-85% stock. The graphics are top notch. My only complaint was the rush job they did on the clear coat (couple runs) which they refunded me $150 to cover.

Some do, some don't. Keep in mind we are talking about professional athletes here, often times not the brightest in the bunch. The scenario I see is athlete driving by a bike shop and deciding "I want one of them Ninjas", walking in to the shop and saying "I wanna go fast", sales guy saying "Get an R6", athlete writes check. When running back Michael Pittman (well over $10 million for his career) was in Tampa he rode a TLR. It was all blinged and stretched, but he didn't get a Ducati, Bimota, West Coast Chopper, or some other super expensive bike.

Luc Bourdon was a high level rookie who died on a Gixxer, some dumb ass baseball player or football player died or got hurt on a busa. They don't all buy ducati's and Mv's.
I'm not arguing the point too much, but to say there's no way Sergei Federov would buy an R6, when the bike in 99 was THE bike to have, is a bit much. In 99, the r1 and r6 were king of the hill and maybe he was smart enough to not start on a 1000?

Look at knuckleheads like rothlesburger and kellen winslow jr, thye just bought hte latest/greatest crotchrockets. Some of the guys who truly are into the bikes will buy the high end stuff. I think Catherine Bell rides an R6 as well. There isn't that big of a price difference between a Yamaha and say a run of the mill ducati, aprilia, mv augusta. Just a few thousand dollars which is a small difference when you think about the difference in price points in cars.

The R6 is 7 years old now. Where does it say Federov currently owns the bike? That's right, it doesn't. It says the bike's been owned by 3 people: Federov, some other guy, the current seller. Logic would damn near fucking make you think Federov must've bought it new!
I wouldn't buy the bike, don't think it's worth asking price, but don't disregard the fact it could've been owned by a wealthy athlete when it was new because "it's just an R6" or "because it's 7 years old now". :lmao:

Work at McDonalds, hmm……That must be you, since your bike is 11 years old and isn’t going to fetch more than $2500 at best. You want $4,000 for that crap? What a joke, for only $3,000 more I could get a brand new ZX6R, and some dealers have even been selling ZX10’s and 1000rr’s for that price, plus tax & setup of course. Oh and by the way, I had an R6 once, but it was an 05…..Much superior to your outdated heap. And I have over 60,000 miles under my belt, how about you? Tool. It’s fuckwits like you who are responsible for why craigslist has gone to shit.

I have had over 20 interested buyers and one guy from Florida who is driving up here to see it next week, which has prompted (yes look it up Mcdonals boy) to think about raising the price a little. Anyway if you knew anything about bikes you would know that the 05 r6 is when they started putting plastic on the rear. And yes dont' get all excited because i said rear.
