iPod Nano took a dump

Fuck you Apple, fuck you in the ass with a wire brush. My 2 yo iPod Nano shit the bed. I've used it literally a dozen times in 2 year. Battery is fine something else is fucked up. I keep getting an error message saying the USB device is unrecognizable when I hook it to my laptop. It is also unresponsive when any of the buttons are pushed and the screen is stuck on "eject before disconnecting"
