You know what this means?
You have no excuse to not come to the rally. Hook up with GM and make your way down here. We will find a spot for you.

Thanks, all. I'm so stoked to be back in the groove again. May not get to ride it near as much as I'd like since I have my daughter half time, but I will ride it as much as I can!!

Yep, sure am. I'll check them out. Someone else had told me to check twistedthrottle.com so I'll check both sites.

Not yet. Waiting to see if they'll even bother calling me. They haven't done so yet, so I'm guessing they won't. I'm thinking of checking the dealership every once in awhile to see if they still have it on the floor. Would LOVE for them to still have it in the fall so I can go in and tell them they could have had it sold back in April.
Congrats!! you know red is the new black...
Enjoy!
Excellent. Too bad my bike is orange. Yeah, i know, it's a crappy cell phone pic. I need to get out and take some better pics of it. And wouldn't you know it, as soon as I buy a bike, weather calls for rain for the next week.

both are water proof... tested countless times in fucking torrential down pours here in Mississippi.
I got some cold weather gloves too that are A* that are water proof but I never wear them... too thick.
I wear some Mechanic's gloves that are the same day glo as my jacket.
and I have Moose M1 (atv sole) boots
http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/ProductImages/300/2009_Moose_Racing_M1_Boots.jpg
the boots aren't water proof at all... my feet get wet quickly... but it doesn't bug me much... just change my socks when i get to where I'm going. (long trips I use the plastic bag method... just can't afford waterproof boots right now.

Dude, nice bike, now you will REALLY need those better smelling condoms!!! BTW bring the new gf with you to the rally if you want!!!:boobs:
Excellent. what do you recommend?
BMW and Aerostitch stuff is top notch. (I am sure you don't want BMW stuff though lol)
First Gear and Rev'it are good shit, but next tier down
Olympia is right in there.
Sidi boots are top notch. I would get something more road oriented with a strom. It's not made for hardcore off road, so you will want to find something more like the on roads or similar. MX boots are designed to let water in, I would look for something else with what you will be doing. After riding to Orlando and back during winter, I wished I had waterproof boots.
Give Francois or Megan a call at dualsporttouring.com and talk to one of them. Tell them Trip advised you to call and ask them questions about gear. They sell First Gear and Rev'it and will make sure you get what you are looking for. Tell them conditions you will be using it and what you will mostly be doing. They really know their stuff.

Nope, not gone. Had my daughter all weekend. Now I'm online looking up everything I'm going to buy. First order of business is a top case (it's cheaper than the side cases and I need something right now) and some all-weather gear. There are lots of other things I want for the bike too, like radiator and oil cooler protectors, throttle lock cruise control, GPS mount, GPS, cigarette lighter adapter to plug in GPS. I think this stuff can get me by for now, but I'm also going to want the side bags and other goodies. Unfortunately, I'm looking at close to a grand just for good side bags.
You are coming to the rally. Don't try to build up excuses.

Francois said about the best thing for me would be mesh gear and a rain suit. However, after looking through everything they have, I really like the First Gear Kenya jacket. Only problem is that it only comes in silver, black, or brown. Afraid black will be too hot in the summer, but not sure what the silver will really look like, and know I don't like the brown. ETA: Just got off the phone and Francois says he really likes the brown. He says the website doesn't really show the color all that well. I'm just worried the black will be too damn hot, but can't fucking decide!!!
