It looks good. The rig I put together played the original at 45fps..


Will 2x 9800gtx run the new one or will I have to upgrade?

I am totally stoked about this. I cant wait for this game to come out. It was fun as shit on the PC. I'm really hoping its as good or better on the Console. It certainly has all the potential on the PS3 the only thing that will screw it up is the 360 because it doesn't have a processor like the PS3 and cant run like a computer does. The PS3 is completely bad ass because of that mammoth processor it has.

I couldn't get into Crysis. I enjoyed Farcry 2 a lot more.

The constant spawnin of enemies in the exact location every time come back got too annoying.

It's getting to be the case, unfortunately.
The hardware available for PC gamers has never been better.
But, if store selections are any indicator, it seems like more and more games are built primarily for consoles with PC editions available only if there's great demand. :(

Too right.

I admit it...I've been wicked slow to warm up to consoles. I've always gamed on my PC and very much prefer the flexibility and power it provides. I have an XBox 360 but just struggle to find any games (it's the gameplay, actually) that interest me. I'm playing through Dragon Age - Origins right now...it's pretty cool...but...as I'm playing I keep thinking, this would be soooooo much better on the PC.

The only thing I really use either of my consoles for (I have a PS2 too that I use to play the hell out of Tourist Trophy) are sports games like NCAA Football and Madden.

Having said that...anyone have a "must have" XBox 360 title to recommend? (I'm not even a LITTLE bit interested in shooters on a console, though!)

My previous game rig shit itself last year and I was a little slow getting the parts together for my new system (which is finally complete, btw)
During that time I got the gaming itch and decided to play a bit on my roomie's PS3.
I enjoyed playing Force Unleashed, MGS4, and The Darkness... oh, and about 1/3rd of the way through Assassin's Creed. There are some games that I like using a console gamepad for, but I think I still prefer WASD and mouse for the most part.

As a counterpoint i dont miss the 15 minute ritual of reading the box of a new game and wondering if my machine could play it without shitting the bed. TBH the only games i miss are independance war, wings over vietnam, and the wing commander series.

I hope it's quite a while before I have that problem with my new machine.

heh last time i had a dedicated gaming machine (if you hadnt guessed by the games mentioned) it had an amd k6-2 400 and a diamond viper v550. :lol: im gonna add starseige to the list of games missed. Not that tribes garbage, the mech game. Seems so long ago that i was fucking people's shit up in my basilisk with emp cannons and elf whips. Effing sierra should have given us a sequel.

Tribes 1 was the shit.

Sadly, hardware is only good if the software utilizes it. Hopefully the ps3 will be better than the 360's but i wouldnt bet on it hoo much.


Also with DX11 coming out already, it seems like DX10 is like Vista. It was just put out there to hold some attention. Nvidia needs to put the 3D stuff on hold and get some DX11 stuff out. 3D is cool, but im not gonna game with it everytime.
