It's supposed to clean out your sinuses. I've seen them at health food stores or I'm sure you could find one online.

However, there is a school of thought that they are not particularly good, so do your research.

everytime our weather flips from overcast and rainy to sunny and vice versa it's killing me. spring and fall are bad days for me.

Yes it works - it's weird, but it works. For me, when it's really bad I do it three times a day. The trick is to tilt your head and activly breathe through your mouth. Like, look like a open mouth bass and focus on breathing.

is there nothing out there these days that won't possibly cause more damage then it cures? LOL

You can get cheap plastic ones at CVS (or other pharmacies) for about $15 or so. May be cheaper than that, not sure. Make sure you pick up some distilled water. Have fun. I hate the damn thing and don't use it, but my allergies kill me too. I finally said fuck it and just live with em.

I flush with a glass warm water, a pinch of baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon of salt for the nose and a glass that is 1/5 filled with vinegar, rest of it with warm water, teaspoon or so of salt and gargle that.

Works well for me.

I have on but only use it when I'm sick. I can't remember to use it othewise. I could see how it would be great at getting the pollen out of your nose! No baking soda or vinegar for me though, just a tiny bit of kosher salt.

Walgreens sells 'em. They work really well for clearing out your sinuses. It looks like you're sticking a teapot up your nose, however

I use the squirt bottle version. Use it every day.

Distilled water ONLY with the little salt packet in it.

I'm one of those who mentioned it before.
I personally use an isotonic solution of non-iodized salt and plain warm tap water.
One to two times a day when my allergies are really kicking.

If you have particularly bad tap water (too much chlorine or minerals) I guess you could use distilled or heat some water filtered through a Brita pitcher or something.

I am currently seeing one of the best allergists in the country and the reason I was told to use nothing but distilled water is that bacteria and mold can grow inside your faucet. I'm allergic to mold. VERY allergic to mold. Putting tap water that may contain even tiny amounts of it directly into my sinuses would wreak havoc. That's what I'm trying to wash out, no sense in putting more back in during the process.

I boil filtered water. Then, add their saline packets... tho, just until I run out because I'm too lazy to buy more.

The same people make a little rinse bottle that is FAR easier to use than that stupid fucking tea pot. I got mine from my ENT doc, and the refills for the solution at Walgreens pharmacy

I use the bottle as well. I love it. I don't use mine everyday. I did for the first littke while.

I use one once a day, and it's fantastic. I pour warm water from my Brita pitcher in, the little packet and I'm good to go. I use mine in the shower so all the nasty can just wash away. I've had sinus infections and bad allergies for years. Since I started using this gay little teapot thing I barely ever bother to take my allergy meds, really only when the pollen rain is going on like now. It's a lifesaver. I buy more of the little packets about once a month, and for the couple of dollars they cost plus the $13 the little pot cost that level of relief is worth a thousand times the price. I recommend trying it, if it doesn't work you're only out a couple bucks. Use it twice a day as recommended the first week and I'm willing to bet your problems will diminish if not disappear.

Would it help for someone who gets bronchitis a lot?

It helps your sinuses, getting rid of congestion and post-nasal drip. I can say that since I breathe better I sleep better, and there isn't a bunch of crap draining into my throat and lungs. I don't get the sore throats and cough up weird shit like I used to, but I don't think it'll help your lung function in that way.

I don't have allergies, but I do use one when I'm sick. My doctor even recommended it.

It's the instructions the sinus doctor gave me and it seems to work well.

The vinegar soothes your throat when you have a lot of drainage.

AMJ helped me out by installing a sump pump during the last big rain, and now my drainage is much better, thanks.

Here's vinegar up yer nose.

I don't put vinegar up my nose. I only put a little salt and a pinch of baking soda in some warm water for my nose.

I gargle with salt, vinegar, and warm water.

Ain't no way in hell I would put vinegar up my nose, that shit would hurt.
