That's like in the Knight Rider scene with the 1125R's, they put the I4 sound in. It's the sound the general public associates with crotch scooters, so that's what they use.
If they used the real sound of a Buell, people would go :wtf: that's not a HD.

Vtwins usually get overdubed with an I4 sound for TV and movies. They did it to the Ducati in The Italian Job remake as well.
