Yeh, it was good. Not nearly as good as the first one but still pretty good. I took my 5 year old and it kept his attention for most of the movie.

that was my overall assessment too.

I walked out of the theater with the full knowledge that they cut way too much stuff off the original script. There were just too many little thing that popped up unexplained or that were reffered to but hadn't happened.

Really my main problem was that the first film Tony was trying to right the wrongs that his being an asshole cause. This one he was an egotistical asshole and that caused all the problems. Also the science was too out there for me, not saying that arc reactors and iron man suits aren't too out there, but the some of the stuff that he found at the last minute was just way out there.

I will say that there was a ton of cool shit in the movie. War machine, totally bad ass, and the references to the other characters. I saw at least 4 references to other super heros.

The chinese guy who gave Whiplash the passport, Ten Ring mandarin reference? In the Box with the Cap shield, an antartic reference to a frozen Captain America? At the end when Stark is talking to Fury there was qa map in the background with a few locations circled, 2 in southeastern US, North Pole, and Atlantic Ocean. Also the news report of the Hulk in the background in the same scene.

Was there a preview of Super 8?

TommyHotWheel

Super 8 preview was there. The transition from righting the wrongs of his family to self destructive egotist mirrored the comics, they just didnt have the time so they scooted around the alcoholism. Did anyone notice Thor in the movie? And did everybody stay till the end of the credits? It was cool that they showed Cap's shield too...funny, that was a very Tony way to use it. And I think the Russian guy was just a conicidence, I didnt notice any rings, alot of russians from the Siberian area look Chinese, they are neighbors.

Edit: I checked and the gangster is listed as Ten Rings Gangster, not The Mandarin, but he was Ten Rings...here is a list of the "Easter Eggs"

As a non-comicbook nerd, I liked it.

I was impressed with Mikey Rourke. I thought, at the beginning, here comes a movie with terrible fake accents for 2 hours, but he did a good job.
The story was good(not as good as the first, but still good), but the main fight scene was much better than the first(even if whiplash's part was very short).

I think the movie was missing one thing though. Tony, Pepper and Nathalie Rushman in the shower.

One thing I hate in movies is when they switch actors. that shit pisses me off.

I sit here reading this in my Iron Man 'Shoot to Thrill' T shirt, listening to AC/DC, and planning which show to catch and whether or not to hit On the Border before or after...

Thats Terrance Howard's fault, not the producer or the company. He wanted top billing and pay. I think Don was more like Rhodey anywho. I would have liked to see more of Whiplash too, but I wouldnt want to sit thru a 3 hour movie again.

I hate when they switch actors, but Don Cheadle did great, imo.

Don Cheadle did do a great job(as he always does), and TH can suck it if he wanted top billing. It isn't Rhoaieman, it's fucking IRONMAN!

Scarlett doesnt do it for me as an actress.

I was reading that they didnt like T's attitude on the scene and had to constantly reshoot.

I just came back from seeing it. I've always maintained the Jr. is a hell of an actor and he would have ended up being a legend by now, if he didn't derail himself every time he started to be successful.

Since the first Spiderman movie I've been a fan of the subtle changes they've made, in order to update the Marvel Universe. An arrogant ass like Tony Stark wouldn't have hidden behind the mask and called Iron Man his bodyguard. He's have hired a dozen Vegas showgirls and shot a video. Downey plays it right.

As to Scarlett; I've never been a fan of blondes but if you colour her hair red and put that ass in a leather catsuit, she doesn't need to be able to act.

Fans of ol' Goldilocks's comic, of course.

Saw it today and I thought it was great. The constant barrage of sarcasm was entertaining and the action scenes were fun to watch. I only saw the first movie once, so I really can't say much about how the story carried over. I also never cared for comics, so the transition escapes me as well.

Thought it was great. I love how the characters evolved since the first one and I'm digging the Avengers tie- ins. Also, I liked Cheadle better than Howard, he pulled the character off with a gravity and seriousness that would have seen contrived if Howard had tried it. I loved the movie overall and Ulu did too. I can't wait for more

I'll just reiterate and emphasize a couple of points:
1 There is no end to the things I would do to and for Ms Johanson.
2 Thor is awesome but was never carried thru in the comics like it shoulda been, maybe the movie will give it some boost.

You might want to catch some of the animated movies then.

"Who's the chick in the armour?"

"I don't know, but I'm glad she's on our side."

I saw it, I liked it.

As a non-comic book person, what are we supposed to have seen at the end of the credits? I hate it when I stick around and I don't even know what I am watching.

I don't think that this qualifies as a spoiler....

When Stark's SHIELD baby-sitter shows up in New Mexico and looks into the crater, at the bottom he sees Mjollinr, the hammer of the Norse God of War, Thor. Thor was a mainstay of the Marvel Comics universe, especially in the '70s.

There are a series of new movies based on comics that Marvel published, coming soon. Thor is the next I think followed by Captain America and The Avengers...

Definitely didn't have the verve of the first one, but still good to go.

Come on, how can you not love Ironman scratching Tupac and shooting at stuff with his repulsor guns?

I thought it was ok, i didn't like they put whiplash in the big suit at the end. We don't need a gigantic boss suit in every movie.

I thought it was a t least as good as the first movie. Also, I think its smart to reference future MARVEL movies the way they have. I dont know anything about SHEILD or Thor but Im already interested to see the movies when they come out and find out how they fit in the overall story.

Nick Fury was a character in Marvel war comics. He later became the head of SHIELD. I had hundreds of "Sgt. Fury of Easy Co." comics as a kid, but my younger brother sold them off at face value (some of them listed as $0.12) so that he could buy new comics. Yes, if he ever makes his fortune I'm taking half.
