I now forget who gave me the tip but I am all signed up for the NESBA Yamaha Demo day at VIR on 07/05-07/06/08 and I have an 08 R1 reserved for me on 07/05. This is going to fucking rock. There's a few of us heading down. Anyone here going? I hear VIR is an awesome track.

Curious- the Nesba site doesn't say anything about it.

Schedule: http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/racing/nesba_demo.aspx

353 miles for me to get there... ouch.

Before I signed up I just emailed info@nesba.com to check if they had demos available on those days and they emailed me right back to say yes. I think this is more of a Yamaha dealer program where like someone interested in a new Yamaha the dealer can send them to the track to try one out or incentive (1 year free membership with nesba and 1 free track day) for someone to buy.. Doesn't appear they are actively advertising it..

VIR is a haul for me...something like 6 hours. So needless to say...I won't be making it.

I wish it was only 6 hours for me.. 11 hours from the D:

665 mi – about 11 hours 1 min

We have a 4 man driving team though, an ambulance with a license plate that says offduty, a trailer and some mad fucking karate skillz..

so marko pack that shit up and get to VIR.. if it was only 6 hours i would skip the bullshit and ride there..

You are persuasive.

I am totally considering if this is at all possible for me after taking the first two weeks off in June... unlikely, but I could potentially swing it.

So what's the deal here? Price? etc?

$160 for first day 15% off for second and third day so $140 next 2 days. I am doing Saturday and Sunday so its like $300 for me total for 2 days. Saturday I am riding a 2008 Yamaha R1 for one session - part of the Yamaha demo day. You can pick from like a 6 bike line up - R1, R6, FZ6, etc. They still have bikes available to demo.

Shit I was going to check out VIR anyways and I wanted to do different tracks this year so this is perfect.

VIR is a great track. Had a great time despite a severe sinus infection that plagued me all weekend and now finally am getting over. I have some pics and soon will have some video to post up.

Looks like a fun track, I have a buddy (DIMFord) who lives in VA, I might have to make it up there sometime.

south course and yes it is a bad ass track.. they have north, south, patriot and full courses.. i would like to try the north and full now for sure.. i couldn't imagine the full i think it's like 4 miles.. that would be killer.. i had a ton of fun on the south course.. definitely going back in the near future.. and it was bad ass to tear it up on an R1 compliments of Yamaha..

theres also a grand course which is kinda like full but less of the big straights and most of the turns of north and south. Rumors are TPM may run that configuration next year.
