At first I was thinking to myself that I don't get it, and now that I understand fully what has transpired I just feel sorry for the guy.I think I can totally relate to the guy, I get wierd ideas for stuff that I can do to my vehicles all the time, buty 99% of the time I listen to the little dude whispering in my ear who tells me that it might be a bad idea and so the idea gets dissmissed. I think this guy just gets a good idea and doesnt have that filter to tell him something is a bad idea

just to list off some of the bad ideas he has had:

1. extra ram air holes in his frame, by cutting holes in his frame
2. plexiglass heel guards
3. home made and designed muffler
4. moto gp'ish' exaust with really sharp point
5. ram air tail? With sharp edges right by his legs
6. home design $1 air filter to save money
7. blacked out brakes (rotors, calipers, the whole shebang)

Those are just teh ones I think will possibly hurt either him or the bike and are dangerous. My list doesn't include the stuff that I just plain dissagree with or that is just paint

I am still going through his flickr album and found all his tickets from this year on his bike. Damn!!!! And he had his bike towed 8 times

http://www.flickr.com/photos/shervinrrr/3963134927/

Finally i got a job and i started paying my tickets. I had so many and i don''t want anymore!!! i was thinking now that i am paying them i should take a picture of them for the day that i am old and look back at this picture and remember that there was a day that i had traffic tickets!! oh by the way on the left side of the picture under the yellow sheets there are 2 folders which are full of tickets as well.

He was just trying to copy the TLR frame. They have channels cut out for the ram air tubes, albeit they are boxed in and designed that way from the factory.

Should be interesting.

I mean, its a cool idea, but it just isnt safe, its the cheapo home depot stuff. if he would have used some 1/2" thick stuff I might have said yeh thats kinda need, but this is about as thin and flimsy as possible

Yeah, but why not just use the metal stock ones? I mean the plexiglass don't really look better and the weight savings is almost negligible.

Maybe he wanted the clear look, like those lexan rims... I have cf heel guards because I like the way they look. He was basically cool with me until the holes in the frame. Everything he did to his bike prior, including the goofy exhaust, isn't THAT radical and has been used on other bikes.

From looking through his flickr photos, this guy was all about weight saving and aerodynamics. He has pics of weighing his turn signals vs. stock ones, weighing his plexiglass heel guards vs. stock, weighing his exhaust vs. stock, etc. And I agree, yeah, his stuff is cheesy, but nothing majorly wrong with it until cutting holes in the frame.

This reminds me of my first car, how I took some cardboard and made a "ram air tube" that went from the grill to the air filter neck. The placebo effect convinced me that it gave me more power.

Apparently you forgot the 4 air cleaners he used claiming he can now go 56,000 miles between changes and the exhaust that looks like an oil funnel.

Nope. There are a couple companies that make a very similar exhaust... Hot Bodies comes to mind and VooDoo....oh and when I was younger, taking off the air box and installing individual pod filters was all the rage. Not the same thing but you never know what crazy idea will work without trying it. Nos, water injection, etc...

A compelte dark smoked windshield is not a good choice if you are going to ride more than 100km/h becasue eventually you need to lay down on the gas tank and if you can not see through the windshield you will be fast and alert enough. The orgianl windshield which comes from manufactory (Kawasaki) on this bike is light smoked but in the lower side is full of dots and it make it hard to see thruogh it. If you want to go fast you need a full clear windshield. I think Kawasaki did that to make you buy a full clear windshield.
omg.... I never knew I had to lay down on the tank if I do more than 60mph.

... This guy really has to be joking......

You didn't know that they put dots on the bottom of the winshield to make you a buy a new clear one? Its the oldest trick in the book.

On his car he has been running 2 lug nuts just for that reason!!! (I dunno but it sounds plausible)

those lug nuts are only a couple inches away from the rotational center.........Reducing tire pressure would have a greater effect :lol

Reducing tire pressure only work to increase contact patch by flattening out the surface of tire that is in contact with the road. The problem with lowering tire pressure is that with all the extra traction from flat tires you will be doing wheelies everytime you hit the gas or throttle and you will make flip over and bang your head on the floor.

If you want really to remove rotating mass you should do burnout until chords are showing. This will reduce the rubber on the tire at its most far away from center point, but will leave rubber on edges for fast turning speeds so when you race people know that you are smarter than the rest of the racers by redusing mass and leaving turning speed.
