Is anyone surprised?
It’s not a matter of availability, Drewnowski said. All of the stores in his study stocked a wide range of nutritious food, including plenty of fruits and vegetables.
Instead, he contends it’s because healthy, low-calorie foods cost more money and take more effort to prepare than processed, high-calorie foods.

I think it's more about lazy than anything... Frozen meals and all the other pre-made ready to go crap is WAY more expensive than shit in the produce isle... Comparing the whole foods store and the normal supermarket is ridiculous.
Lazy people eat crap because they are not disciplined enough to take the time to prepare actual meals and go for taste over health. Lazy people are also less likely to be wealthy so it would only make sense they would shop at the cheaper places. Make food stamps only good for fresh produce and meats... then only the middle class would be fat.

I think you might be confusing lazy and busy. Just because someone didn't plan well and doesn't have time to cook a good meal doesn't make them lazy. I'd also beg to differ on the cost comparison unless you are shopping at Costco for meats/sides & the Farmers Market for the produce. Eating a home cooked clean meal can definitely be more expensive than the *insert fast food chain name here* dollar menu... but it's a choice.

The issue is three things:
1. People don't give a shit about themselves. The guy gets one girl to fuck him and then "thinks" he doesn't have to take care of himself.
2. People are too lazy to research about eating correctly and workout.
3. People are clowns. They will spend little on food, but 700 bucks a month on an SUV.
