I'd rather see a 600 version of the RSV4.

Quit with the 600's already, give us a 750 or 800. 600's suck on long trips.

BMW has said numerous times that there is no 600 on its way, take that for what its worth

I would like that. I wish there was more than just the GSXR 750 from the Japanese makers.

ZX7R ftw. Just keep the weight down this time.

Fellas....they need a class to race in. Anything over 600cc will have to be a triple or a V-Twin.

Unless of course they bring back the 750 class.

And race what Ed? The Ducati 848 (or whatever) can barely hang with the 600s now. Personally, I think that the OEMs made the right choice. A 750 cost way too close to the same price as a 1000, weighed within a few pounds, insured close to the same, etc...what was the point? Besides, Suzuki had that crap on lock, boy!!! Heck, even MotoGp is going back to 1000s...

Other 750's. Honda Yammi and Kawi would all have to bring back the mighty 750. They are actually closer to a 600 than a 1K. On the GSXR they are identical except the displacement. They are very different than the 1K.

Me too. Inline fours suck.

I'd rather see a 600 version of the RSV4.

Because people generally buy 600s for sport touring.

BMW has also said, in the past, that they would never build a supersport to compete with the japanese.

A triple? Based on the article in the OP, I don't see a triple turning 18k RPM. Not impossible, but not likely.

It also said 10% over jap bikes. Given the lower valve area they can go over 599 and likely remain legal. They probably wouldn't need 18k.

In similar news triumph has all but promised the long rumored return of the litre class daytona for 2012. Starting to sound like there's gonna be some seriously interesting toys to choose from if they send me overseas again ;)

Because people generally buy 600s for sport touring.

Some people buy only one bike, not 2 or 3.......And they'd like it to be capable of doing a variety of things, including the occasional long distance.

Some people buy sport tourers or DS bikes, I don't, because I don't like the upright riding position.

Not in the past they weren't. .. anyway we'll see but I bet they do a triple or something similar to get the extra ccs. ..

The S1000RR does not exactly break the mold wrt engine. I figure their supersport will be the same.

Who said it's going to be an inline four?
