View Full Version : Why can't I get to my user CP?
This has happened to me the last few times I've been on the board. I'll log in, I get the thank you for logging in, then I try to go to my UserCP and I'm asked to login again. Clearly I am logged in because I was able to post in another thread and am posting this.
If this belongs somewhere else I'm sorry, please move it. I just didn't want to f-around too much in case there are some other areas of the forum I'm logged into but not logged into.
Lay off the sauce ... sounds like a user error to me

Cause you're retarded.
j/k No idea why, it's working fine for me. Clearing your browser history is a good start. If that doesn't work dry a different browser.

That function requires you to take a picture of yourself sans clothing and e-mail it to the admin.
Probably something to do with your cookies or cache. It works fine for me and I can't duplicate the issue, so it's not something I can fix.

Dammit Trip, I was trying to help you out and you screwed it up
You guys are soooo funny!!! Ha.
Anyway, I had cleared my cache, etc, several times and it didn't help. I'm using the same browser I always have with the same settings as well. Yesterday it wouldn't even let me post a reply after it said I was logged in. Today however I checked "remember me" which I don't do on my work laptop ever, and not only am I logged in and able to reply, but I can get to my User CP. I don't get it but I'll just keep doing that as it seems to work.

Odds are that your browser was remembering the wrong password. If you log off and clear your stored passwords, then log back in, you'll likely never have the problem again.

I know I've been MIA lately!! To be honest, I spend so much time on my computer at work and for work after hours, i've been a little less inclined to "play" on the internet. I am in fact currently online doing work looking for ideas for the user forum my company is creating for one of our products. I got a big fat raise after only 6 months on the job though, so I can't complain too much.

Actually, it apparently has something to do with whether or not I check "remember me" because when I logged in last time and could get to my user CP, I had checked that. This time when I logged in, I didn't, and I couldn't get to it again until I did. Could that be related to my browser settings?

From that it sounds like it has something to do with what I mentioned; stored passwords. The "remember me" box likely stores the password in a file on your computer called a "cookie", so that you don't have to type it in each time. The saved password could be different from the one that you think is your password here. Try changing your password in usercp to the one you think it should be.
