I bought a "shitty" stand. I read forum after forum and only saw one negative. A guy said the bolts stipped out. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say he over tightened the bolts. Aluminum thread VS steel threads; steel wins. I was going to drill out the threads and install some Time-Serts but I don't believe there is enough room. So I'm going to drill out the threads, insert some steel sleeves, use longer bolts, and add nuts to the bottom.

Seems like 8mm spools work best. Mine are sliders too so they're big.

That's nicer than the one I've been using with no problems for the last 10 years.

I would have left those alone, you only make that adjustment once....:idk: BTW HF sells the spools that fit that stand as well. Oh and did you also catch the email with it on sale plus the 20% off coupon in Sport Rider/ Motorcyclist?:rockwoot:

Sorry, ASSumed that you were contemplating modifying the adjuster lock down plates/assembly...:idk: The hooks will be easy to change. My mistake.

Good thing you didn't remove the "Do Not Remove" tag or you'd really be fucked.
