Got her loaded up and heading to Tally tonight. This is the trailer that I had the kids in the local high school shop class build.

And the stow away ramp on the side. It slides out and attaches to the rear of the trailer

Looks pretty sturdy, but those wheels look pretty far back, how much weight or percentage of weight in on the hitch?

I noticed the same thing. It looks like almost all the weight will be transfered to the hitch. One bike should be fine with your full size, but a couple bikes and some gear could put you over your max tongue weight.

It looks clean though. I like the ramp idea. The delinquents did a pretty good job.

I designed it that way. It pulls like a dream with more hitch weight. As you can see in the first pic, it's not squatting the back end of the truck at all.

I was thinking about the max tongue weight that a class 3 hitch is designed to hold, which is 500 lbs. Between the bike and the trailer I bet that you are at or over 500 lbs. I'm not concerned about your suspension, or the truck squating, the concern I would have is that the hitch itself is designed for pulling front to back, not movement up and down.

In all reality will any thing ever happen? Probably not, but the design does warrent a second look.

I like it, looks cool.

I can relate, I just had my old one revamped, she looks sweet now with a removable mounted full size tool box, spare tire mount and full gate on the back plus her shiny new paint job.

I've ridden exactly 2 laps last year at Tally. Mechanical problem and out for the day. I'm excited to get back. This will be my first 2 day event. I'm glad because in the past I've just gotten comfortable in the afternoon of day one. Then head home

First time I drug knee was at Lil Tally. Loved the technical aspects, but DAYUM it gets hot out there. We did a day out there about this same time 2 years ago, thought I was going to DIE it was so damn hot. First time I didnt ride all sessions, and drank like I was in the desert and still got heat exhaustion. Make sure to have plenty of fluids man, and have fun!

Thanks. Suppose to be in the low 90s tomorrow. I've been doing 1 gallon of water a day for the past three days. Plan on alternating water and Powerade at the track.

Have fun at Jennings

Oh, and I remember your first knee dragging. I got the text

Shoot, Little Tally is a cake walk compared to Jennings. Jennings is one of the most technical tracks there is. That back section is sooo tight. You can actually go as fast, or faster, on a mini from 7-12 as the big bikes can. :) Tally is fun, tiny, but fun. Not near as technical as Jennings tho!

Nice, I just picked one up from Lowes to use until I get a pickup, and after that for random yard shit.

I put some OSB down over the expanded metal, I just didn't trust it, since it bowed under my weight.
