This

they wouldn't be dealing with trying to remotely do stuff under water if it were on land.

Someone will be sure to point out that I'm wrong no doubt.

Riiiiiight. So ignoring safety standards had nothing to do with it, huh? Nothing quite like putting robber barons in charge of a nature preserve, is there?

I blame Sarah Palin for dragging the standard of political discourse down to the grade 2 playground level.

I don't recall her ever being critical of off-shore drilling before. Now all of a sudden a disaster happens offshore, and she thinks she has the right to say "I told you onshore drilling was better than offshore". Sorry but that shit doesn't fly. She's just an opportunist.

Bingo.

Sarah Palin at an October 21, 2008, campaign event in Reno, with emphasis added:

PALIN: John [McCain] and I have to adopt an all-of-the-above approach to meet America’s great energy challenge for you. That means harnessing alternative sources, like wind, and solar, and biomass, and geothermal.

(APPLAUSE)

And we will develop clean-coal technology. And we will safely drill for the billions of barrels of oil that we have underground, including off-shore.

Bitch, shut the fuck up.

nice find JC -

you can't sit there and seriously think that diggers would not rape our land AND our sea beds, if they were not only restricted to sea beds. where there is oil to be drilled, they will drill for it when allowed. Don't ever believe they won't.

I think that goes without saying.

She's stated that she's for on and off shore drilling. I think she's just using this opportunity to promote and drum up support for drilling in ANWR...not trying to say she's against offshore drilling all of a sudden. :idk:

Her logic is awesome.

Because you wont let us drill here, we had to drill there (which we were gonna do anyway) therefore your are responsible for oil spill.

Because you wouldn't let him stick it in your ass it is your fault he knocked up your sister.

Because you wouldn't let them drink beer at home when they were 12 it is your fault they turned into alcoholics at 25.

Since meh, meh...therefore meh

It's their job.
Why are you asking a dickwad question? You micromanaged at work or something and have lost the ability to handle task asigned to you without a nanny?

Jerk, don't you know how your own government works?

Keep in mind that those aides are the most powerful force in Washington. They shape the positions of and control the information flow going to your elected representatives. Representatives who we all know to be clueless egotistical blowhards.

Uh yeah, that's comforting.

Some 21-22 year old is responsible for reading & interpreting, and notifying his boss of the important aspects........Meanwhile the vast majority of their mental energy is focused on deciding which clubs they're going to hit or which co-worker they'd like to hook up with.

So I guess the 30-50 year old aides better step up to the plate.

Aides come in all ages and levels of experience.

And which of those people are put in charge of tedious tasks like combing through 2,000 page documents? Likely the youngest, lowest-paid ones.

HOUSTON (Reuters) – A natural gas pipeline exploded in north Texas on Monday afternoon, CNN reported.

The blast was originally thought to be an oil well explosion.

An electrical crew was digging a hole when it struck the gas pipeline, an emergency services spokesman in Hood County, Texas, said.

WFAA-TV, the Dallas/Fort Worth station, reported three people were dead and 10 were unaccounted for after the blast.

There goes Palin's "theory"........
